Far-Right, Anti-Gay Pastor Jesse Lee Peterson Allegedly Had Secret Same-Sex Relationships

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Jason Kempin / Getty When it comes to most anti-gay, anti-LGBTQ talking heads, they always seem to have some skeletons in their closet waiting to come out. Manosphere pastor Jesse Lee Peterson might be a perfect example of that. Is Jesse Lee Peterson Living A Secret Gay Life? Jesse Lee Peterson is the token Black man white conservatives and far-right advocates love to champion. He denies the existence of white privilege, is against Black people taking advantage of government programs, and most importantly, can’t stand homosexuality. Patterson also bizarrely believes that “Any woman that is climaxing is becoming a man. Because it’s not normal for women to do that.” What? Well, the chickens are finally coming home to roost for Patterson. The Daily Beast rep...

Unpublished Memoir of Liar and Emmett Till Accuser Carolyn Bryant Donham Made Public

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bettmann / Getty A memoir written by the woman who was at the center of the murder of Emmett Till has surfaced. The discovery, coupled with news of an unserved warrant from that time has raised calls to reopen the case. According to NewsOne, an unnamed source provided a copy of a 100-page memoir from Carolyn Bryant Donham, the woman who made the false accusation against 14-year-old Emmett Louis Till in Mississippi in 1955. Her claim led to the boy’s abduction, savage beating, and lynching. Till’s grotesquely disfigured face was published in JET Magazine, spurring many to mobilize within the Black community and serving as a flashpoint for the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s. The document, entitled “I Am More Than A Wolf Whistle”, was apparentl...

Carly Rae Jepsen Teams With Lewis OfMan for New Song “Move Me”

While I was living in Florence I had this special party where I found my heart shaken up by someone, I remember these insane blue eyes, but destiny wasn’t OK for us to pursue each other, we were stuck in our own lives and couldn’t mix them. The day after I wrote “Move Me” I was full of passion and dreams, and wanted to scream it out to the world. I had a session with Carly the same night, she instantly felt the song and sent me recordings of her beautiful voice and some additional ideas—it just made so much sense to do this duet together, it’s such a beautiful encounter. Now, enjoy this track, and we hope it will resonate through your life.

Happy Mondays Bassist Paul Ryder Dies at 58

Paul Ryder, whose house-inspired basslines anchored Happy Mondays, died this morning (July 15), the band said on Facebook. A representative confirmed the news to Pitchfork. No cause of death was given. Paul Ryder was 58. Ryder co-founded the Happy Mondays in 1980 with his brother Paul and Gary Whelan, Paul Davis, and Mark Day, with Mark “Bez” Berry later joining on tambourine and percussion. The famously hedonistic group peaked in the late ’80s, when its blend of dance and psychedelic rock—dubbed “baggy”—aligned with the rave movement and fed into the Madchester scene. Their 1990 album, Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches, and follow-up Yes Please!—both released on Factory—achieved commercial success while the band collapsed amid internal strife and drug use. A comeback in 1999 drew huge crow...

40 Years Ago, Judas Priest Released the Heavy Metal Rallying Cry Screaming for Vengeance

Judas Priest began the ’80s with a bang by unleashing the all-time metal classic British Steel in 1980 — an LP that spawned the anthems “Living After Midnight,” “Breaking the Law,” and “Metal Gods.” So when it came to a follow-up, why not figure they would take it to the next level? Turns out, 1981’s Point of Entry was a surprisingly unfocused effort (especially when compared to its predecessor). But Priest — singer Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and KK Downing, bassist Ian Hill, and drummer Dave Holland — more than made up for the fumble with their eighth studio effort, 1982’s Screaming for Vengeance. Recorded from January through May of ’82 (with Tom Allom once again handling production duties), two studios were utilized — Ibiza Sound Studios in Ibiza, Spain, and Beejay Studio...
