Thom Yorke Soundtracks New Greenpeace Ad With Solo Version of Radiohead’s “Bloom”
Thom Yorke has shared a solo rendition of Radiohead’s “Bloom” for a new Greenpeace ad. Check out the video, which is part of Shark Week, a campaign to protect the oceans, below. “In the last 50 years the global shark population has plummeted by 70 percent,” the video description notes. “Sharks are being wiped out by overfishing for profit. But our oceans can recover if we protect them.” The rendition is taken from a 2019 Yorke solo performance. Back in 2017, Radiohead collaborated with Hans Zimmer to rework “Bloom” for the BBC series Blue Planet II. Kanye West Sued for $7 Million Over Unpaid Event Production Fees
Kanye West is being sued for $7.1 million by Los Angeles-based production and design firm Phantom Labs, TMZ and Variety report. According to Variety, lawsuit was filed today (July 14) in Los Angeles County’s Superior Court. It reportedly alleges that West and his team owe Phantom Labs the large sum for work the firm contributed to West’s canceled Coachella set, his Free Larry Hoover concert with Drake, a Donda 2 listening event, and multiple Sunday Service performances. West is listed as a defendant alongside several of his companies, referred to in court documents as “the Yeezy Defendants.” According to court documents, Phantom Labs are suing West for breach of contract in addition to the $7.1 million in unpaid fees. Last month, beloved characters Beavis and Butt-Head made a glorious return to cinema for Mike Judge’s Paramount+ feature Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe. Now, the raunchy BFFs will star in a revival season of Judge’s original show, as Consequence of Sound points out. The episodic series hits Paramount+ on August 4. Today, the streaming site has shared the first trailer for the cartoon. Check it out below.
