Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” Enters Billboard Songs Chart for First Time After Stranger Things Placement

Metallica are the latest beneficiaries of the Stranger Things bump. The band’s 1986 song “Master of Puppets” has reached No. 40 the Billboard Hot 100, scaling the singles chart for first time since its release 36 years ago. The title track from their third studio album was recently featured in the season finale of Stranger Things’ fourth season. In one scene, metalhead Eddie Munson (played by Joseph Quinn) delivers the song’s shredding guitar solo while in the Upside Down. Last week, Metallica shared a statement thanking Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer for featuring “Master of Puppets” so prominently in the show. “It’s an incredible honor to be such a big part of Eddie’s journey and to once again be keeping company with all of the other amazing artists featured in the show,” ...

Chris Hemsworth Skipped Eating Meat So He Could Give Natalie Portman a Vegan Kiss

Chris Hemsworth is as close to a carnivore as a healthy man can get, but when it came time to shoot a kiss with Natalie Portman, his vegan co-star of Thor: Love and Thunder, the old god paid respects to the new. “The day we had a kiss scene he didn’t eat meat that morning, because I’m vegan,” Portman told Capitol FM. “And he eats meat like every half hour. That was so thoughtful.” She continued, “That’s not something I’m angry about or care about. But he was just being thoughtful. He’s just a very nice person.” Advertisement Related Video “I didn’t even know he could go without eating meat,” their co-star Tessa Thompson added. “He’s just like, eating bison in the morning. That’s so sweet.” “Every hour on the hour,” Portman confirmed. When asked if he was truly perfect, Thompson c...

Where American Horror Story took us on season-long journeys through haunted asylums, hotels, and freak shows, American Horror Stories offers a new, self-contained adventure every week. In the trailer for Installment 2, Silverstone attempts to clear a clogged bathtub drain, only to discover someone, not something, is the culprit. Meanwhile, Thorne and Greenfield play skeptics, as Greenfield denies the existence of ghosts and Thor...

If you’re extremely online, you may have recently seen photos circulating on Twitter of Armie Hammer appearing to work at a hotel resort in the Cayman Islands. Now, Variety has confirmed that the photos are real, and that the disgraced actor is, in fact, selling timeshares in the Caribbean. Rumors of Hammer’s hotel employment began last week, when a flyer advertising his services as a “personal concierge” began circulating on social media. Photos of the actor in uniform followed. A source confirmed Hammer’s employment at the hotel to Variety, saying, “He is working at the resort and selling timeshares. He is working at a cubicle. The reality is he’s totally broke, and is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family.” Hammer, great-grandson of oil tycoon Arman...

Alanis Morissette (Finally) Celebrates 25 Years of Jagged Little Pill in Montreal: Review, Video, and Setlist

Like so many other highly anticipated world tours, Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette had to wait an extra two years to finally mark 25 Years of Jagged Little Pill — or if we’re being pedantic, 27 years. After kicking things off in Europe, the Ottawa native began the North American leg of the tour in her hometown on July 10th before performing at Montreal’s Bell Centre two days later. (Get tickets to the rest of her upcoming dates here!) Although the night started with harmonica blazing to album opener “All I Really Want,” the rest of the evening in Montreal didn’t flow exactly as the Jagged Little Pill recording. The 48-year-old, with the same athletic stage-hopping zeal from her youth, played the entire album mostly out of order, with a few other hits such as “Uninvited” and “T...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Gary Gershoff / Getty Mario built up goodwill after his Verzuz win against Omarion last month. But, that all seemed to come to an end on Monday (July 11) when the “Let Me Love You” singer announced that his new single, “Main One,” would feature Tory Lanez. The backlash was swift especially after Mario had addressed Lanez’s alleged shooting of Megan Thee Stallion in August 2020. “This @theestallion & @torylanez situation got me in awe. Sad AF? Footage From Uvalde Shooting Tragedy Displays Incompetence Of Police On Scene

HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: Brandon Bell / Getty The Uvalde tragedy is still one of the most shocking school shooting events in recent history, and new details are coming forth from that horrible day. Footage shows local police officers toiling about on their phones instead of doing their jobs and protecting the innocent lives inside. As we understand the sensitive nature of the Uvalde shooting, we won’t show the footage of the police officers casually checking their phones as children were screaming in horror, according to reports saying that the audio of the footage was scrubbed. But what is especially angering is that several accounts from the ground stated that parents practically begged the officers to move into action, with some parents taking on the role of protectors t...
