Will the 2020 BMW 228i xDrive Gran Coupe Win Us Over in a Year?

What is it? Who’s going to buy this thing? Why does it exist? Those are just some of the questions people asked (from a safe distance) about the 2020 BMW 228i xDrive Gran Coupe. With the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class as its only competitor, the 2020 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is a niche model. For that reason alone, we don’t blame consumers for asking so many questions about this oddball luxury sedan or for not knowing BMW even offers such a model. Slotting below the legendary 3 Series, the 2020 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is the smallest sedan in the German automaker’s lineup. As BMW’s newest entry-level car, the 2 Series Gran Coupe has been tasked with luring new consumers—particularly younger ones—into the brand. That means the 2 Series Gran Coupe must compete with other luxu...

2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup: What We Know

Hummer is back, albeit as a sub-brand of GMC, not a standalone brand within General Motors. Don’t call it a gas guzzler, either, because the 2022 GMC Hummer is a zero-emissions electric pickup truck. With production set for GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck plant, the GMC Hummer EV likely arrives in dealers in mid-to-late 2021. While GM isn’t saying much about the model’s technical details, the company did announce the EV will have 1,000 horsepower and hit 60 miles per hour in 3.0 seconds.  More Videos 2022 GMC Hummer EV Electric Truck: Removable Roof Panels Teaser Teaser: Ford Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 Electric Dragster Prototype Toyota Yaris Cross 2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup Truck – Teaser April 2020 Petrolhead Planet Preview: Epic Drives in Epic Cars Need to Know: 202...

2022 GMC Hummer Truck and SUV Getting Jeep-Like Removable Roof Panels

Hummer just teased a brief photo and video showing the open-air roof of the forthcoming 1,000-hp GMC-badged Hummer EV, with no further explanation or clarification as to how this roof works, what it looks like with the panels in place, or even whether this roof belongs to the promised pickup or the promised SUV model. Such a roof could be applied to either—or, hopefully, both, just as Jeep‘s Wrangler 4×4 and Wrangler-esque Gladiator pickup both offer topless options. From the look of it, the GMC Hummer’s open roof design involves removable panels. There is a traditional “basket handle” structure where the B-pillars would be—the roof pillars just behind the front seats—that allows for complete removal of the roof over the front seats, though we can’t ...

GM’s “Ultra Cruise” Aims to Take on Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Option

The future for General Motors includes hands-free driving everywhere, a top executive said in regards to company plans to expand the capabilities of its Super Cruise system. The hands-free driving feature currently works on pre-mapped highways. Taking hands-free driving to the streets is the next logical evolution of the technology and GM has a big team working on it. The setup is referred to as Ultra Cruise, was formally announced by GM’s Doug Parks at the Citi 2020 Car of the Future Symposium. “Ultra Cruise’s domain would essentially be all driving, all the time,” Parks said. “Ultra Cruise would be all [that] Super Cruise [offers], plus neighborhoods, cities, subdivisions.” Unfortunately, Parks was light on details, such as when Ultra Cruise will reach...

This Expensive-Looking H&M Top Is the First Thing I’ve Bought in Months

As far as high-street labels go, this summer I have to say I have been very impressed with the selection at H&M. From linen-blend joggers to puff-sleeve dresses, the brand has created an elevated offering of polished, expensive-looking pieces that seem much more high-end than their very reasonable price tags.  In fact, a few of the pieces in the brand’s recent collection could easily be mistaken for designer and have already caught the attention of several in-the-know influencers. Made in an airy, cotton-blend fabric, H&M’s Crinkled Wrapover Blouse has been worn by both Katherine Ormerod and Claire Wakeman and just so happens to be the only purchase I’ve treated myself to during lockdown. Featuring a woven texture and oversize puff sleeves, the...

These 40 Nail Art Pictures Are Giving Us All the Mani Inspiration We Need

Remember when nail art consisted of water-painted flowers and glittery dragons? Those were the days. However, after its short-lived moment in the early noughties, nail art really dropped off the grid for a little while. In stark contrast to the grandeur and excess of embellished talons and intricate patterns, for the last 10 years or so, nail trends and manicures have, for the most part, remained monotonal, simple and polished. However, in the last 12 months or so, we have noticed that nail designs have started to get a little more fun. From colourful rainbow nails to chic gradient designs, it would seem as though we are all looking for new ways to up our mani game. You’ll be pleased to hear that nail art is officially back too, and it’s chicer than ever. Stee...

9 Pretty Summer Makeup Looks We Can’t Wait to Try Ourselves

Out of all of the things we’ve had to forgo recently, the one beauty ritual I’ve missed the most is without a doubt applying makeup every morning. On any normal day, I’d say that I take no great joy out of applying my makeup. In fact, I’d say I used to regard it as more of a chore. Fast-forward to now, and I have never been more desperate to get creative with my face. Without actually having to leave the house for the last couple of months, I have had little reason to hook out my makeup bag.  My Instagram saved folders, on the other hand, are full to the brim with beautiful makeup looks that I am itching to re-create. From pretty pastel eye looks to glowing glass skin, I have never been more inspired to dig out my makeup bag and get playing. So now that the sun is...

Everything You Need to Know About Dealing With Ingrown Hairs

As summer comes hurtling toward us at record speed (seriously, where have the last few months gone?), we’re getting ourselves prepped for warmer climes. We’re slowly starting to pack away our cardigans and knits and pull out last year’s shorts and sleeveless tops to take their place. And it’s not just our wardrobes that are getting a summer overhaul. We’re turning our attention to our beauty routines too. Special attention is being paid to the areas that we have spent the past few months neglecting. Our toes, for instance, are getting treated to at-home pedicures, and our limbs are finally getting the TLC and golden glow that they’ve been crying out for. However, while we’re overjoyed that the sun is finally showing its face, there is one issue that crops up around...

I Have Sensitive Skin, and These Are the Hardworking Products I Swear By

Having sensitive skin isn’t easy for anybody. However, as a beauty editor who is constantly chopping and changing her routine in order to try new products, it’s exceptionally difficult. Receiving news of a new skincare launch is a bit like a game of roulette for me. You see, if a product contains note-worthy amounts of retinol, vitamin C, alpha-hydroxy acids, essential oils or fragrance, you better believe my skin is going to have something to say about it. The difficult thing about coming to terms with such truths is that I really do want to reap the benefits from such wonderful ingredients. But at what cost? While using potent retinol or vitamin C will help in reversing and preventing signs of ageing, the chances are they will leave my skin red, sore, dry and usually susce...

23 Sports Bras That Are as Supportive as They Are Comfortable

I’m back, once again, to talk to you about boobs. But this time, I’m here to chat sports bras. Whether you’re someone who exercised regularly pre-pandemic or have now found you need to take on more exercise since lockdown, there’s one thing I’m sure of: Finding a decent sports bra is essential. I have been a keen runner for about seven years and have always found that no matter what cup size I’ve been, a sports bra to hold you in place is vital for comfort. While I also (sporadically) do yoga, I still find that support is needed during less vigorous exercise. What I’m saying is that I’m a sports bra evangelist.  But there is confusion about what kind of sports bra you should go for. I know in the past I was told that you should go for a ...

Struggling to Manage Your Roots? These Cover-Up Products Should Do the Trick

But what if I told you it didn’t have to be so hard? In fact, temporarily covering up your roots at home couldn’t be easier. Without dyes, bleach or even toner, root concealers and cover-ups provide the ultimate quick fix. By dispersing powdered pigment (either with a spray product or with a brush) through affected areas, you can minimise the appearance of bold, contrasting roots in a matter of seconds. And, while I by no means promise they will sort the problem completely, they certainly do a stand-up job at blending roots and minimising their appearance. Sound like something you could benefit from right now? Keep scrolling for the best root concealers out there… You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. 17 Women Around the World Share Their Quarantine Self-Care Routines

The most helpful sentiments I’ve scrolled past all voice a similar message: As long as you’re abiding by the recommendations of the government and WHO, taking every precaution to keep yourself and others safe, there’s no “right” way to do self-care. You don’t need to write that novel, alphabetise your food cupboards, get in amazing shape or somehow spin this whole experience into a good thing (unless you want to, of course). The only thing any of us “needs” to do is protect our own health and the health of our communities. The rest is going to look very different from one person to the next.  I was talking to a friend on the phone this morning for whom this quarantine has served as creative fuel. “I’m going to write a children’s book,” she told me. “I’ve been thinking about ...
