SAF wants Man United to sign Aston Villa’s John McGinn- Sun

McGinn shines for Villa

John McGinn signed for Aston Villa last summer from Scottish outfit, Hibernian.

Villa are believed to have paid around £2.79m for McGinn’s services.

McGinn’s debut campaign at Villa Park saw him net nine and assist 12 in 48 appearances across all competitions.

The Scotsman also scored one in the 2019 Championship play-off final, which Aston Villa won 2-1.

After a solid debut season, the midfielder has continued to impress in pre-season for Villa.

Villa faced Charlton on Saturday and came away with a 4-1 win.

McGinn would score twice in that game with his second strike particularly impressive.

McGinn and Man United

Shortly after McGinn’s excellent brace, The Sun reported that Sir Alex Ferguson wants Manchester United to sign the Scottish midfielder.

The Sun claims SAF still has some sway at Old Trafford and he is believed to be close friends with McGinn’s grandfather.

It has previously been reported, also by The Sun that Man United are interested in McGinn but the newly-promoted side are said to value him at a staggering £50m.

While McGinn would fit with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plan to bring in young British stars, £50m may be a bit steep for a player with zero Premier League experience.
