Brett Hankison, Officer Connected To Breonna Taylor Murder, Found Not Guilty

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Brandon Bell / Getty The 2020 shooting death of Breonna Taylor at the hands of police still lives in the minds of many, especially those who feel justice has never been served. Brett Hankison, an officer involved in the fatal raid, was found not guilty on Thursday (Mar. 4) which sparked protests across Lousiville and beyond. The Louisville Courier-Journal was among several local and national outlets covering Hankison’s wanton endangerment trial of which he was facing three counts. Hankison was among the three officers who burst into the home of Taylor as she slept with her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, also in the residence. Hankinson, along with officers Jonathan Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove, who fired the final shot, was investigating an alleged drug-deali...

BRUCE DICKINSON Has ‘Between 50 And 70 Percent’ Of His Next Solo Album Already Written

In a new interview with Greg Prato of Consequence, IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson was asked for an update on the progress of the songwriting sessions for his next solo album. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I’ve been working on it, on and off, since [2005’s] ‘Tyranny Of Souls’. But between lockdowns and albums and MAIDEN tours and everything else, I’m looking for a clear space to actually nail and say, ‘Okay, this is what it’s gonna be,’ and get [longtime collaborator] Roy [‘Z’ Ramirez] to put some backing tracks down. And then we can do it. So we’re at the point now where we’ve already got — I don’t know — anywhere between 50 and 70 percent of the material for the album, depend[ing]...

According to Mirror, Ozzy Osbourne and his wife/manager Sharon are leaving Los Angeles and returning to their native United Kingdom due to rising taxes in California. The legendary heavy metal singer and his wife will reportedly spend most of their time at their home Welders House, in Buckinghamshire. “We are leaving L.A.,” the 73-year-old BLACK SABBATH frontman said, according to Mirror. “We are a bit sad. But the tax is getting too much. I am sad because I really, really like staying and living there.” He added: “If they do the taxes better, then I may come back. I do not know. I am taking my recording studio with me. I am going to build a barn there and make my own studio at Welders. I will still be making music and my band will come over.” Last Octob...

DEE SNIDER Rips RANDI ZUCKERBERG’s ‘Dogs**t’ Version Of ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’

Randi Zuckerberg, the sister of Meta/Facebook‘s Mark Zuckerberg, has shared a video about cryptocurrency that is set to the tune of TWISTED SISTER‘s classic song “We’re Not Gonna Take It”. Although Randi apparently meant it to be “a rallying cry for the women of web3,” the clip — which features cameos from Maliha Abidi (Women Rise founder), Lisa Mayer (Boss Beauties founder), Sara Baumann (Women And Weapons founder) and Mai Akiyoshi (Curious Addys founder) — has attracted more attention for being a cringeworthy parody. In Randi‘s reworked version, the chorus lyrics are changed to “We’re All Gonna Make It”, a popular slogan in Web3 communities. “I’ve been thinking about a fun way to explain crypto jargon to newcom...

PHIL DEMMEL Has Nothing Negative To Say About MACHINE HEAD

In a new interview with Pierre Gutiérrez of Rock Talks, Phil Demmel reflected on his final album with MACHINE HEAD, “Catharsis”, which got mixed reviews upon its release in January 2018. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “The record is what it was. I thought that there was some good stuff on that record. I enjoyed a lot of the stuff that I wrote. ‘Heavy Lies The Crown’, I fucking love the riffs that I did for that. ‘Hope Begets Hope’ I wrote; I love the music for that. [There are] a lot of good moments on that record, man. Sometimes it just doesn’t happen, and it just didn’t for me on that record. But I love ‘Bloodstone & Diamonds’ [2014], I love ‘The Blackening’ [2007], I love ‘Unto The Loc...

The estate has since issued a denial, saying that it was “surprised and disappointed” in Day’s “not entirely accurate” account. “Given Prince’s longstanding history with Morris Day and what the Estate thought were amicable discussions, The Prince Estate was surprised and disappointed to see his recent post,” the Prince Estate’s statement reads. “The Estate is open to working proactively with Morris to resolve this matter. However, the information that he shared is not entirely accurate.” Day’s team has since shared the Prince Estate’s initial letter from December with Billb...

Endeavor Sued For Allegedly Stealing Marketing Ideas for IPO Effort

A consultant is suing Endeavor claiming he gave the company the blueprint to salvage its debut on the public market, which led to a successful $10.3 billion IPO, but he wasn’t compensated or given credit. David Carde began his complaint, which was filed Thursday in L.A. County Superior Court, by comparing this alleged theft to when the founders of Endeavor left ICM in 1995 and in the middle of the night “stole a bunch of client files and stuffed them into a SUV parked by a freight elevator.” “Following the embarrassment of the failed first IPO, Endeavor’s crushing debt became an existential threat after the COVID pandemic ground the Company’s business to a halt,” reads the complaint, which is embedded below. “However, once Endeavor stole and then embraced Mr. Carde’s approach of communicat...
