LIONS AT THE GATE Feat. Former ILL NIÑO Members: Music Video For New Single ‘Bed Of Nails’ Available

LIONS AT THE GATE, the new band featuring former ILL NIÑO members Cristian Machado (vocals), Ahrue “Luster” Ilustre (guitar) and Diego Verduzco (guitar), alongside bassist Stephen Brewer (WESTFIELD MASSACRE) and drummer Fern Lemus, has released its latest single and music video, “Bed Of Nails”. The track strikes a fine balance between otherworldly vocals, relentless rhythm, and massively heavy riffs. Speaking about “Bed Of Nails”, Machado commented: “‘Bed Of Nails’ is a song that was brought in by Diego, a string of riffs that told a story. [Producer] Kile [Odellpushed the dynamics of the song into extremes by surrounding Diego‘s riffs with ghostly verses. Ahrue and Steve rounded off some of the parts and the bridge of the song. W...

Zero And Below – CROWBAR

RATING: 8/10 Time flies when things are heavy. CROWBAR have been a weighty musical force for an impressive 32 years now, and yet nothing about “Zero And Below” indicates that founder and talismanic frontman Kirk Windstein is anywhere close to running out of steam — or riffs. With classics like “Odd Fellows Rest” and “Time Heals Nothing” already guaranteeing his band a seat at heavy metal’s high table, Windstein would have been forgiven for treading water. But if “The Serpent Only Lies” (2016) and “Symmetry in Black” (2014) elevated the CROWBAR sound to new levels of crushing craftsmanship, their twelfth full-length goes even further, offering up some of the finest songs to bear the band’s name in many years. “The...

MARILYN MANSON Sues EVAN RACHEL WOOD Over Abuse Allegations: ‘A Malicious Falsehood’

According to The Blast, Marilyn Manson has filed a lawsuit against actress Evan Rachel Wood over allegations of rape and sexual abuse. Wood alleged in the documentary “Phoenix Rising” that she was “coerced into a commercial sex act under false pretenses” while filming the 2007 music video for “Heart-Shaped Glasses” with her then-boyfriend Manson. Manson‘s attorney Howard King later denied Wood‘s allegations in a statement to People, claiming that the singer “did not have sex with Evan on that set, and she knows that is the truth.” In his lawsuit against Wood, Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, accused his ex-fiancée of intentional infliction of emotional distress, defamation, computer fraud, and impersonation over the Intern...

The Weather Station Unveils New Song “To Talk About”: Stream

The Weather Station have a new album out this week, but if you can’t wait until Friday, Tamara Lindeman has unveiled a new song today. Listen to “To Talk About” below. “To Talk About” is the second single from How is it That I Should Look at the Stars, the companion LP to 2021’s Ignorance. A stark piano ballad, the song sees Lindeman croon about hopelessly in love, wanting only to revel in her contentment. “I am lazy/ I only want to talk about love,” she sings, slowly hitting delicate chords. “I know there is so much I should try and say/ But we lay in bed and leave it unsaid.” Later, singer-songwriter Ryan Driver comes in for a duet, mirroring Lindeman’s words of devotion. This vulnerability permeates How is it That I Should Look at the Stars, a collection of songs Lindeman...

Pinegrove Whirl Through “Cyclone” on Corden: Watch

Pinegrove made their late night television debut performing “Cyclone” on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday night. For the standout track from their new album 11:11, Pinegrove played one of the most dimly-lit sets in recent late night history. The New Jersey rockers took the stage bathed in midnight purples, their faces and hands aglow with a grape sheen. This darkness put the emphasis on the lyrics, which is arguably where the band would want us to focus anyway. Frontman Evan Stephen Halls sang, “‘Cause it’s been in my head for a long time/ And it feels wrong/ I don’t want it anymore, ah/ It spun in my head for a long time,” using a metaphor of a cyclone to depict whirling thoughts. Check it out below. Advertisement Related Video Pinegrove have plenty...

7-Year-Old Drummer Caleb Hayes Crushes Slipknot’s “Sulfur” on Ellen: Watch

Ellen DeGeneres apparently has a great eye for young music talent, considering she booked Nandi Bushell on her show a few years ago. Now, the daytime talk-show host is featuring another young UK drumming sensation, 7-year-old Caleb Hayes, who impressively rocks the Slipknot song “Sulfur” on today’s episode (March 2nd) of The Ellen Degeneres Show. A sneak peek of the episode shows Hayes’ full Ellen appearance, in which he masterfully drums along to the Slipknot single from 2008’s All Hope Is Gone. The little metalhead then sits down with DeGeneres, telling her how he has surpassed his dad when it comes to drumming skills, and naming Slipknot as his favorite band. DeGeneres then mentions that she heard that Hayes was saving up for a special snare drum, to which he replies he was eyeing a sig...

Smash Mouth’s New Singer Hails From a Weezer Tribute Band Called Geezer

Smash Mouth have introduced their new singer following the dramatic exit of founding frontman Steve Harwell last year. His name is Zach Goode, a Los Angeles-based musician and voice actor whose biggest claim to fame (until now) was as a member of a Weezer tribute band called Geezer. Self-described as “the world’s oldest covers band,” Geezer “blend rock, comedy, rap and barbershoppe to hilariously swing the entire history of popular music from AC/DC and Dr Dre back to Buddy Holly and the Beatles, mashed up mid-song with spot-on Weezer and Beastie Boys hits.” You can get a glimpse at some of their work below. [embedded content] Goode’s resumé also includes stints in California rock bands Ghoulspoon and Divided By Zero and “international dance” group Kräppewöfft. He’s also part of several oth...

Black Woman Says Delta Flight Attendant Made Her Move To Back Of Plane To Accommodate White Passengers

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Spencer Platt / Getty Every once in a while, a story pops up on our news feed that provides an opportunity to discuss, with nuance, seemingly mundane ways in which white privilege manifests itself in the lives of Black people. Meet Camille Henderson.  As reported by The Grio, Henderson,”was on her way back to the Bay Area from Atlanta on Feb. 3 when Delta flight attendants asked her to give (up) her seat after the two white women sitting next to her in the same row complained about not having enough room.” “They felt like they were ticketed first-class seats, but they couldn’t provide the tickets,” Henderson told ABC 7 News. So, basically, these broke-a** Karens weren’t in first class and their coach-caucasity led them to complain for over an ho...
