Morgan Wallen’s appearance on Saturday Night Live ended awkwardly, as the country singer walked off stage during the show’s closing credits without acknowledging any of the show’s cast members.
After host Mikey Madison wrapped up the episode with thank yous, Wallen gave her a brief nod before walking straight off stage in front of the camera. Several cast members appeared visibly confused.
Shortly after, Wallen posted a photo to his Instagram Story of a private jet with the caption, “Get me to God’s country.”
It’s unclear what drew Wallen’s ire, though his pair of performances received a noticeably lukewarm reception from the studio audience compared to most other SNL musical guests.

Wallen already had a complicated history with SNL. His debut appearance in October 2020 was initially canceled after social media videos surfaced of him going to non-social distanced parties maskless and kissing random women during the pandemic. He was later rebooked to play the show in December 2020.
Wallen is set to release his new album, I’m the Problem, on May 16th.
