KISS have announced a massive box set celebrating the 50th anniversary of their legendary concert album Alive! The collection comes in a variety of formats, including vinyl or CD.
A super-deluxe 8-LP vinyl edition boasts 120 tracks, 88 of which are previously unreleased, and is priced at $400.48. As described on the official KISS online shop:
“LPs 1 and 2 feature the original album newly remastered by Bernie Grundman from the original 1975 stereo analog master tapes. LPs 3 through 6 showcase two full-length concerts from the 1975 “Dressed To Kill” tour — RKO Orpheum Theatre in Davenport, Iowa on July 20, Second Show and Wildwood Convention Hall in Wildwood, New Jersey on July 23 — newly mixed by legendary producer and engineer Eddie Kramer from the original multi-track analog tapes as KISS performed in 1975, with no overdubs. Bonus tracks on LP 7 and 8 include five rehearsal tracks at the Davenport gig including an impromptu jam and an additional six songs from Cleveland Music Hall, Cleveland, Ohio on June 21, 1975, all newly mixed by Eddie Kramer from the original multi-tracks. The Blu-ray Audio disc features “Alive!” newly mixed by Eddie Kramer from the original album multi-track analog tapes in Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround along with the newly remastered stereo in 192kHz 24-bit and 96kHz 24-bit PCM stereo set to a brand-new visualizer featuring a treasure trove of unreleased live photos.”
In addition, it’s packaged with a load of physical goodies, including a 100-page book, a T-shirt, glossy photos, a Peter Criss drumhead lithograph, and many more items.
Other editions include a 4-CD box set (with T-shirt) priced at $287.55; a deluxe picture disc edition (with sweatshirt), priced at $251.89; and a premium color vinyl version (with sweatshirt), priced at $125.98.

All editions will begin shipping on November 21st, and are available for early pre-order for members of the KISS Army fan club at the band’s official webstore, where you can see full details of each version.
KISS and their fans recently mourned the loss of original guitarist Ace Frehley, who died last month at the age of 74 after suffering a fall at his studio. Next month, the band will be among the Kennedy Center Honorees at a ceremony taking place December 7th in Washington, D.C.
