Boards of Canada Release Inferno, First New Album in 13 Years

Boards of Canada Release Inferno, First New Album in 13 Years

Boards of Canada have released their long-awaited new album, Inferno, out now via Warp Records. The release follows lead singles “Introit” and “Prophecy At 1420 MHz,” which were accompanied by an official video directed by Robert Beatty. Stream the full album below.

The album arrives after a months-long cryptic rollout from brothers Mike Sandison and Marcus Eoin, which included mysterious VHS tapes sent to fans and their Hexagon Sun symbol appearing on posters in cities across the world. The duo formally resurfaced on April 16th with “Tape 05,” their first new music in over a decade, though the track does not appear on Inferno.

The release marks the Scottish duo’s fifth studio album and their first in 13 years, following 2013’s Tomorrow’s Harvest. The 18-track record is available on special edition limited red translucent 2LP vinyl in a triple gatefold sleeve with a 16-page booklet, as well as standard black 2LP vinyl, CD, and digital formats. Pre-order physical copies here.
