FIFA has officially announced that pop superstar Justin Bieber is joining the monumental performer lineup for the first-ever 2026 FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show. Taking place on Sunday, July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the global sports governing body has partnered with international advocacy organization Global Citizen to transform soccer’s biggest championship match into an unprecedented pop culture event.
The historic 11-minute mid-match broadcast represents a massive entertainment milestone for the tournament, introducing a Super Bowl-style musical production to the sport’s global finale. Curated directly by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, the highly anticipated show format boasts a co-headlining roster that includes pop royalty Madonna and Shakira, alongside K-pop icons BTS. The performance is structured to weave diverse musical genres together, featuring a live performance from Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy—who co-leads the official World Cup track “Dai Dai” alongside Shakira—as well as the Venezuelan orchestral conductor Gustavo Dudamel.
Beyond its high-octane pop culture footprint, the musical showcase is engineered with a core focus on international philanthropy and global social impact. The star-studded event supports the newly established FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which actively targets a $100 million fundraising milestone to expand access to quality education and sports equipment for children worldwide. To amplify this humanitarian mission, a percentage of every single ticket sold throughout the multi-week tournament goes directly toward the fund. The layered broadcast will also feature collaborative visual integrations, including an appearance from the PS22 Chorus alongside iconic characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.
