Okuda San Miguel has transformed W1 Curates on London’s Oxford Street with Ancestral Futurism, his first major immersive exhibition.
The show reimagines key works from the Spanish artist’s career as large-scale digital environments filled with his signature geometric figures, hybrid creatures, bold colors and recurring symbols. Together, they trace the evolution of his practice from graffiti and painting to sculpture, installation and digital art.
At its core, Ancestral Futurism is about coexistence. Okuda’s imagined world brings together different identities, cultures and forms, blending nature and technology, the ancient and the futuristic, and the abstract and figurative.
Presented across W1 Curates’ expansive screens, the exhibition encourages viewers to slow down and spend time with the work rather than consume it like another image in an endless scroll.
