Beyoncé has surprise-dropped her new EP, the “MORNING DEW (DONK) REMIX PACK” and now the Queen has dropped new-ish visuals for the track featuring partner in crime JAŸ-Z. The project reimagines her recent single—released in anticipation of the upcoming 20th-anniversary reissue of B’Day—with fresh arrangements and a guest appearance from JAŸ-Z.
The EP marks the first joint track between Beyoncé and JAŸ-Z in five years, following their 2021 appearance on DJ Khaled’s “SORRY NOT SORRY.” The lead remix transforms the original’s relaxed tone with an ominous synth line sampled from Sheck Wes’ “Mo Bamba,” alongside an interpolation of Goodie Mob’s 1998 track “They Don’t Dance No Mo’.” A mid-song beat switch shifts into a slow jam built around The Isley Brothers’ 1983 classic “Between the Sheets”—famously sampled in The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Big Poppa”—over which JAŸ-Z delivers a rare guest verse.
Beyond the rap-assisted remix, which is presented in both explicit and clean edits, the EP explores contrasting acoustic and orchestral styles. The “DONK MIX” integrates a full orchestra to add dynamic peaks to the arrangement, while the acoustic version highlights René Toledo’s guitar performance alongside Queen Bey’s vocals. To accompany the audio release, a music video featuring behind-the-scenes footage and outtakes from the original “Upgrade U” video.
