AFCON 2025: Davido Goes Big on Nigeria With ₦71m Bet
Afrobeats megastar Davido has once again shown massive faith in the Super Eagles, and this time, he’s put serious money behind it.
Ahead of Nigeria’s AFCON 2025 semi-final clash against host nation Morocco, the singer revealed that he placed a ₦71 million bet on the Super Eagles to secure victory.
The highly anticipated encounter takes place tonight, January 14, 2025, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with kickoff set for 9 PM.
Nigeria have been one of the standout teams of the tournament so far, cruising through the competition with an unbeaten record and scoring more goals than any other side. Their dominant run has clearly inspired confidence beyond the pitch, including from Davido himself.
Taking to his Instagram page, the award-winning artiste shared a betting slip from global gambling platform Stake, confirming he staked $50,000 (approximately ₦71 million) on the Super Eagles to defeat Morocco.
The bet was placed on 6 odds, covering:
- Nigeria to win
- Both teams to score
- Over 1.5 total goals
A scoreline like 2–1 in Nigeria’s favour would comfortably land the bet.
If the Super Eagles pull it off, Davido stands to cash out a whopping $348,274.07, which translates to about ₦495 million.
Adding extra spice to the moment, Davido hinted he’s ready to go even bigger if Nigeria reach the final. He wrote:
“Nigeria to make the finals and I’ll double my stake on my slip…. 💰 @stake.”
The winner of tonight’s clash will book a spot in the AFCON 2025 final, where either Egypt or Senegal awaits.
