The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa lands as a statement piece at the Brussels Motor Show, signalling that the internal-combustion era is not bowing out quietly. Limited to just ten hand-finished cars, it takes the already riotous Giulia Quadrifoglio and leans hard into motorsport theatre, with Luna Rossa’s America’s Cup tech baked into its aero, materials and storytelling. This is the first physical product of Alfa’s high-end Bottegafuorisere custom division, and it reads like a business card for how Stellantis wants to handle ultra-low-volume, high-margin passion projects going forward.
Under the skin, the Luna Rossa stays loyal to the Giulia’s core recipe but sharpens every edge. The twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 is turned up to around 520 hp, paired with a mechanical self-locking differential and a louder Akrapovič exhaust for extra drama. The big headlines are aerodynamic: a full carbon package with front canards, reworked underbody profiles, deep side skirts and that split dual-profile rear wing inspired by the foils of the Luna Rossa AC75 yacht. Alfa says this configuration delivers roughly 140 kg of downforce at 300 km/h, five times the standard Quadrifoglio, without murdering top speed.
Visually, the car leans into its nautical muse. The body is hand-painted in an iridescent steel-like grey with a contrasting black “boat deck” hood, roof and rear section, sliced by a red side band and Luna Rossa script. For the first time in the brand’s history, the Alfa Romeo badges sit on a red background, while 19-inch wheels fade from grey to red to echo the livery. Inside, Sparco buckets are trimmed to mirror the Luna Rossa crew’s personal flotation devices, and the dashboard carries an ultra-thin film cut from an original race sail, literally embedding a piece of the yacht’s history in the cabin. Built in Cassino and finished by specialist Italian artisans, all ten cars were spoken for before most fans saw the press shots, underlining how a hyper-focused collab can turn a decade-old platform into fresh hype.
