Ayra Starr Hints at New Album, Fuels 2026 Anticipation

Ayra Starr is once again setting the internet buzzing. The Mavin Records star and Roc Nation signee has ignited fresh excitement across the global music scene after subtly teasing what could be her next major body of work.

Riding the wave of her rapid ascent, the singer hinted that a new album may arrive in 2026, sending fans into speculation mode.

The revelation came through Spotify’s “Our Frequency” zine, issue 033, where the Celestial Being opened up about her evolving artistry, personal growth, and future ambitions. The platform, which celebrates Black artists by spotlighting their stories and creative journeys, recently placed Ayra Starr at the centre of its latest edition.

Spotify’s Our Frequency series is designed to give artists room to share deeper, more personal narratives, and Ayra did just that. Reflecting on her upbringing, the 23-year-old spoke about how living across different cultures helped shape both her sound and identity.

“Growing up in Benin and Nigeria, it was two different vibes,” she said, comparing Lagos’ high-energy atmosphere to that of a global metropolis. “Lagos is almost like New York.”

She contrasted this with the calmer rhythm of life in the Benin Republic, describing it as serene and grounding. “Benin Republic has more like a beach vibe. Everywhere is calm. Everybody is quiet. I can’t really put it into a few words — it’s made me who I am,” she explained.

It was within this reflection on growth and self-discovery that Ayra Starr dropped the biggest hint yet about her plans.

Speaking on her goals for the year ahead, she revealed, “In 2026, I’m looking forward to learning how to cook more known Nigerian food, and my album, Amen.”

The statement suggests a carefully measured approach to her next chapter, one that prioritises intention and creative depth. This shift aligns with her Roc Nation management deal signed in July 2025, under which the company oversees her global branding and touring strategy, signalling a more refined and globally focused rollout for what could be her most important project yet.

With expectations already sky-high, Ayra Starr’s next era is clearly taking shape, and all eyes are now firmly fixed on 2026.
