Focus Features has officially unveiled the first trailer for Pressure, a high-stakes World War II drama that places Brendan Fraser at the center of history’s most nerve-wracking weather forecast. Based on the critically lauded play by David Haig, the film zeroes in on the intense tactical standoff that determined the fate of the Normandy landings.

The true story follows Britain’s chief meteorological officer James Stagg (played by Andrew Scott) as he is called upon to deliver the most crucial forecast of the 20th century. A wrong prediction could lead to absolute disaster for the largest seaborne invasion ever attempted, while any delay risks German intelligence catching on to the Allied forces’ movements.

This impossible situation locks Stagg into a tense confrontation with the entire Allied leadership. Ultimately, the final decision rests on the shoulders of Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower (Fraser). With the fate of the war and the lives of millions hanging in the balance, the 72-hour window becomes a gripping test of strategy and conviction. The film’s ensemble cast is rounded out by Kerry Condon and Damian Lewis, with Anthony Maras handling directorial duties.

Watch the trailer above. Pressure hits theaters September 11.
