
Bruce Springsteen will lend his voice to the chorus of No Kings rally-goers in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Saturday, March 28th.
Springsteen is set to perform at the Minnesota Capitol building as part of the event, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune. The Boss will play “Streets of Minneapolis.”

“You want to try to meet the moment,” Springsteen told the Star Tribune. “The No Kings movement is of great import right now.” Springsteen wrote “Streets of Minneapolis” after the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by DHS agents in January.

He added, “When you have the opportunity to sing something where the timing is essential and if you have something powerful to sing, it elevates the moment, it elevates your job to another level. And I’m always in search of that.”
In the electrified protest ballad, Springsteen sings, “Against smoke and rubber bullets/ In the dawn’s early light/ Citizens stood for justice? Their voices ringing through the night/ And there were bloody footprints/ Where mercy should have stood/ And two dead left to die on snow-filled streets/ Alex Pretti and Renee Good.”
Singers Joan Baez and Maggie Rogers are also scheduled to appear at the rally, according to the report. Actor and activist Jane Fonda and US Senator Bernie Sanders will also be in attendance.
On Monday, March 23rd, Springsteen made a surprise appearance at the historic Riverside Church in Manhattan, New York. He performed “Streets of Minneapolis” and joined Patti Smith and Michael Stipe for “People Have the Power” during the 30th anniversary celebration of Democracy Now!, the progressive, nonprofit news program. The No Kings rally performance precedes the kick-off of Springsteen’s “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour with the E Street Band at the Target Center in Minneapolis on Tuesday, March 31st.
The 20-date tour includes stops in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and more. The tour ends May 27th with an outdoor show at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Tickets can be purchased here.
