Burna Boy releases new single “Don’t Let Me Drown”

Nigerian global superstar Burna Boy has unveiled a powerful new single titled “Don’t Let Me Drown,” a striking addition to the official soundtrack of the upcoming F1 The Movie.

On this emotionally charged track, Burna Boy once again proves his musical prowess, blending introspective lyricism with infectious rhythm. “Don’t Let Me Drown” is laced with Amapiano elements, layered beneath Burna’s signature Afro-Fusion delivery, creating a sound that’s as vulnerable as it is vibrant.

Lyrically, the track echoes the inner turmoil of someone fighting silent battles, with Burna’s voice rising and falling like waves—capturing the plea of a man striving to stay afloat. The chorus, delivered with raw emotion, adds depth to the song’s message of resilience, desperation, and silent strength.

Produced to perfection, the track stands out on “F1 The Album,” the 17-track official soundtrack for the 2025 film F1 The Movie. The album brings together a diverse mix of global sounds and artists, offering a unique sonic palette that mirrors the adrenaline and intensity of Formula 1 racing.

The compilation features an eclectic lineup of talents including Mr Eazi, Ed Sheeran, Rosé, Tate McRae, RAYE, Roddy Ricch, Tiësto, Sexyy Red, Madison Beer, and more—positioning it as a cultural crossover between music and motorsport.

F1 The Movie, developed in collaboration with the FIA, follows a dramatic storyline where Brad Pitt stars as a retired Formula 1 legend who partners with a rising star, played by Damson Idris, to challenge the sport’s elite on the world’s biggest racing stages. The cast also includes Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Javier Bardem.

Set for release in the United States on June 27, during the weekend of the Austrian Grand Prix, the film—and its soundtrack—aim to capture the high-stakes world of F1 like never before.

With “Don’t Let Me Drown,” Burna Boy delivers a haunting yet groove-laden anthem that not only elevates the soundtrack but reinforces his status as a boundary-pushing artist with global resonance.

Quotable Lyrics:

Don’t let me down, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
Don’t let me drown, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
Don’t let me down, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
Don’t let me drown

Don’t let me down
Don’t let me drown
Don’t let me down
