Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Mortal Kombat Film Star, Dead at 75

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, the Japanese-American actor who played the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung in numerous Mortal Kombat films, TV series, and video games, has died at the age of 75.

According to Deadline, Tagawa passed away Thursday morning due to complications from a stroke.

Tagawa’s other notable film credits included The Last Emperor, License to Kill, Showdown in Little Tokyo, Rising Sun, Tekken, Pearl Harbor, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Planet of the Apes. He also starred in the Prime Video series The Man in the High Castle and the Netflix series Lost in Space.
