Police arrest 28 for crimes, kill two robbery suspects in Edo
The Edo state Police Command said it arrested 28 suspects for various crimes within the last few weeks. Mr Johnson Kokumo, Commissioner of Police in Edo disclosed this on Thursday, in Benin while briefing the media on the Command’s “modest” achievements. According to Kokumo, 15 suspects were arrested for alleged armed robbery, while six were arrested for alleged cultism. He also said that four suspects were arrested for alleged murder and three suspects for kidnapping. He also said that two suspected armed robbers were shot dead by the command. The Commissioner disclosed that two cut to size guns were recovered were recovered within the period as well as 25 live ammunition and three cartridges. Federal high court chief judge goes on self-isolation
The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court (FHC), John Tsoho, has gone on self-isolation following a confirmed case of COVID-19. Justice Tsoho, in a statement by acting Information Officer of FHC, Catherine Oby Nwandu, on Friday, also ordered some key staff in his office to do same, pending the results of screening tests conducted on him, members of his immediate family and close aides. Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, has been transferred to Apoel FC. No details on the amount of the operation, but the goaltender signed a three-year deal with the Cypriot club. Nigerian government threatens sanctions over violation of airport coronavirus protocols
The Federal Government is probing reported violations of COVID-19 safety protocols by some high profile Nigerians accessing some of the newly-reopened airports in the country.
