Former Nigeria international Mutiu Adepoju has pleaded with the Nigerian Football Federation to give Eagles coach Gernot Rohr a chance to operate freely. It will be recalled that Gernot Rohr recently signed a new two-year contract extension that will see the German finish as the longest-serving coach in Super Eagles history by the end of his tenure. Sony is officially confirming its next PlayStation 5 event will be held on Thursday, June 4th. Borno discharges 135 coronavirus patients
Borno State Government has discharged 135 COVID-19 patients. The patients, who initially tested positive for the virus, later tested negative twice upon treatment. Speaking on Friday at the Abba Kyari COVID-19 Isolation Centre in Maiduguri, Deputy Governor, Usman Kadafur, said the state has recorded successes in recent time while commending the efforts of the World Health Organisation and other developmental partners. The deputy governor, who is also the Chairman, Committee on Response and Prevention of COVID-19, described the collaboration as a huge success in the fight against COVID-19 in the state. Instacart’s tipping system is getting some new scrutiny from Congress. In a pair of letters today, a group of senators led by Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) raised concerns that the service’s tipping system may be unfair or deceptive and called for a regulatory investigation of the practice. Google rescinded offers to more than 2,000 contract and temporary workers in an effort to curtail new spending as the pandemic continues to sink ad revenue, according to The New York Times. Ruth Porat, Google’s chief financial officer, said last month that the company would slow the pace of hiring this year “given that we are faced with a global crisis of uncertain depth and duration.” The 2,000 contract positions would have been located across the globe, according to the Times, and they represent a small fraction of Google’s workforce. The Federal Government is set to pay a total of N46,440,000,000 to 774,000 young Nigerians who will be employed for three months under the Special Public Works programme.
