As electronic music fans continue to clamor for updates about EDC Las Vegas, Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella has provided a crucial update on the promoter’s most popular music festival. In an announcement shared via Instagram, Rotella said Insomniac has submitted a “robust safety plan” to Nevada officials which, if approved by the state, will allow the promoter to move forward with the festival’s dates of May 21st to 23rd. However, he cautioned that if the plan were to be rejected, EDC Las Vegas will be pushed to October 2021. Fans can expect a concrete decision by April 8th. HBO’s Tina Is a Disappointing Slog for a Vibrant Legend: Review

The Pitch: You can’t keep Tina Turner down. Born Anna Mae Bullock in Brownsville, Tennessee to a sharecropper, her mother left when she was 11 years old to escape the clutches of her abusive husband. Bullock would later visit her mother in St Louis wherein she met Ike Turner at a nightclub. From there: The pair began a tumultuous, abusive relationship on the part of Ike. Bullock, by then known as Tina Turner, became entrapped but eventually escaped, rebuilt her music career, and performed one of the most unlikely comebacks in music history. Her story is one of survival, one of resilience, and one too often defined by Ike and not under the banner of Turner. The hardest working woman in show business bids adieu and recounts her life in T. J. Martin and Daniel Lindsay’s HBO documentary — Tina...

SpongeBob SquarePants Episodes Removed From Paramount+ for Inappropriate Plotlines

Two episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants have been removed from Paramount+ for content that Nickelodeon has deemed inappropriate. One is an episode about a “panty raid” involving Mr. Krabs, and another is about a dangerous flu outbreak that involves a quarantine scenario. The beloved kids cartoon is one of the big-ticket items on the new streaming service that launched earlier this month, but apparently the catalog that they’re framing as comprehensive is missing a couple items. The more glaring of the two is a notable season three episode in which Mr. Krabs tries to reignite his youthful spark by spending an evening with SpongeBob and Patrick Star. After a few boring activities that feel more like chores than fun to the middle-age restaurant owner, the boys suggest a “panty raid”: ...

MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson and SONS OF APOLLO vocalist Jeff Scott Soto have been collaborating on some new material recently under the moniker ELLEFSON-SOTO. They are joined in the group by Italian guitarist Andy Martongelli and drummer Paolo Caridi, both of whom previously worked with David on his ELLEFSON solo project. Asked by Chris Akin of “The Classic Metal Show” what ELLEFSON-SOTO will sound like, David said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I look at it like this. When people come to me, they go, ‘Oh, dude. MARTY FRIEDMAN On How He Has Dealt With Pandemic: ‘I’m One Of The Very Fortunate Ones’

Former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman spoke with Darren Paltrowitz — host of the “Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz” — about how he has spent his downtime during the coronavirus pandemic. He said: “I’ve held up pretty good. I’ve been lucky. A lot of my friends have been all on tour, and the plug got pulled, or worse yet, just before a tour where you rehearsed and done pre-production, rented gear and vehicles and all that, and then the plug [gets pulled]. I’ve heard horror stories. I had none of that. I had a tour coming up that got canceled before we started money spending. And I’ve had a tour postponed, I’ve had Tokyo Marathon opening ceremony postponed. But aside from that, really, I’ve been lucky. It gave me much more time to work...

SCORPIONS Were Forced To Abandon Plan To Work With Producer GREG FIDELMAN On New Album

SCORPIONS have abandoned their plans to work with producer Greg Fidelman on their new album. SCORPIONS originally intended to record the new album in Los Angeles with Fidelman, whose previous credits include SLIPKNOT and METALLICA. However, because of the pandemic, some of the initial work was done with Greg remotely, after which SCORPIONS opted to helm the recordings themselves with the help of their engineer Hans-Martin Buff.
