Nero’s 2021 Return Continues With Dazzling Indietronica Edit of Tame Impala’s “Disciples”

Just one day after returning from a two-year-plus hiatus with a Daft Punk remix, legendary electronic music trio Nero have struck again. Nero’s March 23rd edit of Daft Punk’s “Emotion” marked the group’s first musical release in over two years, following December 2018’s “Lullaby.” They’ve now opted to give Tame Impala‘s “Disciples” a spin, reworking the track into a riveting indietronica jam. Nero dialed up the energy, implementing a four-on-the-floor rhythm and soaring brass elements for a dazzling electronic rendition. They also noted that they used to play an older version of the remix in their shows back in 2016. After two consecutive releases in as many days, fans are now safe to expect more ne...

Whethan and NGHTMRE Tease Release of Long-Awaited Collaboration

It looks like Whethan and NGHTMRE are on the verge of dropping an epic collaboration. Both artists took to Twitter yesterday to drop a not-so-subtle hint that a new song is on the way. The collaboration has been in the works since as early as 2019, but Whethan and NGHTMRE’s tweets may signal a release any day now. What we end up hearing may actually be different than what one might expect from a collab between these two electronic music heavyweights. Considering the fact that Whethan has dabbled in the darker avenues of bass music and NGHTMRE is one of the genre’s most prominent producers , it’s only natural to think a trap banger was on its way. However, if past videos are any indication, they’ll be dropping a monster midtempo track akin to something from REZZ or 1...

Dave Grohl Shares the Story Behind ‘Everlong’

If you watched Dave Grohl perform an acoustic version of “Everlong” at Oates Song Fest 7908 over the weekend, then you’ve already heard the story behind the iconic Foo Fighters song. For the rest of us, that performance and tale is now available on YouTube, Instagram, and everywhere in between. According to Grohl, the Foo Fighters’ debatably most popular song was birthed in a Seattle recording studio while he was waiting between takes, and it initially began with a chord that sounded “like Sonic Youth.” <!– // Brid Player Singles. var _bp = _bp||[]; _bp.push({ “div”: “Brid_10143537”, “obj”: {“id”:”25115″,”width”:”480″,”height”:”270″,”playlist”:”10315″...

Joe Strummer and George Harrison Meet in the Afterlife With Strummer’s Assembly

In The Future Is Unwritten, Julian Temple’s 2007 documentary on the late Joe Strummer, there are scenes in which the former Clash frontman’s friends gather around a campfire to reflect on the rock ‘n’ roll legend born John Mellor.  When news arrived that George Harrison’s reactivated Dark Horse Records was releasing the new Joe Strummer compilation, Assembly, on March 26, a question arose: why? Did the Clash frontman and the late former Beatle also once gather around a campfire, acoustic guitars in hands, and jam on “Rock the Casbah” and “What Is Life”? <!– // Brid Player Singles. var _bp = _bp||[]; _bp.push({ “div”: “Brid_10143537”, “obj”: {“id”:”25115″,”width”:”480″,”height”:R...

Chrissy Teigen Quits Twitter: ‘The Platform No Longer Serves Me’

Teigen — an active Twitter user for over a decade who had taken occasional breaks from posting and made her account private last May — emphasized that it was absolutely not the service’s fault that she was leaving. Nor was it the ceaseless bullying or trolling she faced in the form of hundreds and thousands of attacks on her posts that took personal, vicious aim at even her most innocuous musings, that inspired her exit. “The trolls I can deal with, although it weighs on you,” she said. “It’s just me. I have to come to terms with the fact some people aren’t gonna like me. I hate letting people down or upsetting people and I feel like I just did it over and over and over. Someone can’t read that they disappointed you in some way every single day, all day ...

Revivalists Singer David Shaw Unveils New Single, Preps NFTs for Debut Solo Album

“Feeling Good was inspired by Shaw’s recent sojourn to Los Angeles where the shift in lifestyle got him thinking about how one’s environment can shift the way artists think about influence. “Every day I’d get up early in the morning and head down to the coffee shop for a cortado before heading out to the beach for a swim. I was mostly listening to Beck, a little Sublime and a lot of Bowie at the time and the intersection of those influences mixed with my geographical location got me in the mood to make a song that went with the kind of days and nights that I was having,” he says. David Shaw was produced by four-time Grammy-winning producer Jack Splash, who Shaw calls “the perfect choice to help bring these songs to life in a fresh yet pedestrian kin...
