Justin Bieber & Jaden Smith’s ‘Never Say Never’ Video Hits 1 Billion YouTube Views

Justin Bieber lodges his eighth entry in YouTube’s Billion Views Club as his “Never Say Never” video, featuring Jaden Smith, hits the milestone this week. Revisiting the 2010 music video more than a decade later is a true time capsule, with the then-16-year-old Bieber towering over an even tinier 11-year-old Smith in the studio. The song was on the soundtrack for the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid, starring Smith, who also lends a rap verse to JB’s track and is seen throughout the video alongside co-star Jackie Chan in scenes from the film. None were bigger than Ed Sheehan’s late 2018 Divide tour, which sold more than 1.1 millions tickets across Australia and New Zealand, smashing records along the way. On hearing of Gudinski’s untimely death on March 2, at the age of 68, a heartbroken Sheeran remembered their record-smashing feats and life-long friendship. “His legacy is unmatchable, and will live on for hundreds of years,” he wrote. “To me, and many others, he is the heart of Australian music and always will be.” Sheeran made the long journey back Down Under for Wednesd...

Taylor Swift & Evermore Theme Park End Legal Battle, Drop Lawsuits

Putting an end to an escalating legal battle, Taylor Swift and Evermore, a theme park in Utah, dropped their opposing lawsuits on Wednesday (Mar. 24), with no money exchanged in the settlement. “As a resolution of both lawsuits, the parties will drop and dismiss their respective suits without monetary settlement,” reads a statement provided to Billboard from a spokesperson for Swift. Last month, Evermore Park in Pleasant Grove, Utah, filed a lawsuit against the pop superstar, claiming that Swift infringed its name with her December album, Evermore, and its accompanying merchandise. Evermore Park, which offers an immersive fantasy experience, argued that it had been the registered owner of the trademark for Evermore since 2015. Jay Leno Apologizes for Long History of Racist Asian Jokes

Jay Leno has issued an apology for his long history of racist jokes about Asian communities. For years, the former Tonight Show host has made wisecracks about North Koreans and other Asian populations consuming dog meat, which is an offensive stereotype with subhuman and/or morally inferior implications. According to Variety, the activist group Media Action Network for Asian Americans (MANAA) has spent the last 15 years lobbying for Leno to stop and apologize for his remarks, which he reportedly continued to make as recently as 2020 on the set of America’s Got Talent. Now, one week after the Atlanta spa shooting that left eight dead, including six women of Asian descent, Leno has decided to come forward and apologize for his egregiously offensive attempts at humor. “At ...

Ron Livingston Replacing Billy Crudup as The Flash’s Dad

Barry’s got a brand new dad. With Billy Crudup departing The Flash due to scheduling conflicts with Apple TV Plus’ The Morning Show, Ron Livingston is replacing him in the role of Henry Allen (via Variety). The Office Space and The Conjuring actor is taking over the fatherly part after Crudup played it in Justice League. The Flash has been through development hell over the years, losing numerous directors before Andy Muschietti (It) finally stepped to the starting line in 2019. Production was again postponed due to the pandemic, which ultimately led to Crudup’s scheduling conflict. Livingston’s addition comes days after Maribel Verdú (Pan’s Labyrinth, Y Tu Mamá También) was cast as Barry “the Flash” Allen’s mother, Nora Allen. Thought official plot details are still thin, it’s generally as...

Nabu trains Nelson in the art of sorcery, bestowing on him the Helmet of Fate, a powerful artifact that has become Dr. Fate’s signature attire. Brosnan’s casting rounds out the Justice Society of America, who will either face off against or team up with Johnson’s Black Adam in the movie (or, likely, both)....

CANNIBAL CORPSE’s GEORGE ‘CORPSEGRINDER’ FISHER Once Hung Out With CHER At Her House: ‘She Was Super-Nice’

In a new interview with Metal Hammer magazine, CANNIBAL CORPSE frontman George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher revealed that he once got to hang out with the legendary singer-actress Cher at her Los Angeles mansion. He recalled: “Cher‘s son Elijah, who is in the band DEADSY, is a big CANNIBAL CORPSE fan, and maybe 15 or 20 years ago, he wanted us to come out to L.A. and play his birthday party at the Viper Room. His birthday is two days after mine, so my wife and I went out a few days early: ‘Let’s just fly out there, hang around for a few days, then we’ll play the show.'” He continued: “The day before the show, Elijah invited us up to Cher‘s house. When we got there, she wasn’t there — she was out shopping. I was like, ‘Yeah, ...

TODD LA TORRE Defends QUEENSRŸCHE Against ‘Nostalgia Act’ Accusations: ‘We Sell Memories’

QUEENSRŸCHE singer Todd La Torre spoke to Metal Edge Magazine‘s “Another FN Podcast” about criticism his band receives from some fans for focusing too much on the band’s early catalog and not playing enough of its new material live. “People will say things like — the assholes out there — they’ll say, ‘Oh, QUEENSRŸCHE‘s a nostalgia band,’ or, ‘They’re a legacy band,'” he said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “And you know what? If you’re a band back then, and you’re starting out and you say, ‘Oh, where will they be in five years?’ And then you’ve been there five years. And then you’re there in 10 years. And they say, ‘Well, are they gonna be here 10 years from now?...

JASON NEWSTED Didn’t Want To Leave METALLICA, Says Band’s Onetime Therapist PHIL TOWLE

METALLICA‘s “performance coach” Phil Towle, a former psychotherapist who was brought into the picture in January 2001 to help James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and Lars Ulrich repair their relationship with Jason Newsted, spoke to the METALLICA-centric podcast “…And Podcast For All!” about the bassist’s decision to leave the band 20 years ago. Asked if he thinks Jason “really legitimately wanted to quit” METALLICA or he “just wanted to shock” the other members “enough to where they would either change their ways or beg him to stay,” Towle said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Have you ever had a fight with your wife? When we’re fightning with our spouses or significant others or good friends or whate...

ALICE COOPER Says IRON MAIDEN And JUDAS PRIEST ‘Belong’ In ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME

Alice Cooper says that JUDAS PRIEST and IRON MAIDEN deserve to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Even though artists are eligible for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 25 years after the release of their first album or single, iconic hard rock and metal groups like MAIDEN, PRIEST and MOTÖRHEAD have yet to be recognized by the institution, which inducted GUNS N’ ROSES in that band’s first year of eligibility. Asked about TWISTED SISTER singer Dee Snider‘s recent comment that the Rock Hall committee members are “arrogant elitist assholes who look down on metal and other bands that sell millions because we’re not their definition of cool,” Cooper told “The Mistress Carrie Podcast” (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Dee Snid...
