In January, JACKNIFE took the stage at Eatons Hall in Brisbane and previewed a monster collaboration with The Bloody Beetroots, which the Italian artist later confirmed in a separate Instagram post. Just a few months later, their single “Jericho” has arrived via Tiësto‘s Musical Freedom. “Jericho” adopts both The Bloody Beetroots and JACKNIFE’s signature sounds, blending the former’s taste for electro with the latter’s penchant for bass house. The track is relentless from front to back, striking listeners with a flurry of synths that float atop a pounding bassline. “Jericho” will serve as a hype-inducing weapon in both artists’ setlists for years to come. Although The Bloody Beetroots has already experienced ...
Legendary trance producer Armin van Buuren has postponed the dates of his “This Is Me” tour due to the impact of COVID-19. According to the FAQ section of the tour’s website, the dates have been rescheduled to June 2022. The four-day affair will now take place June 2nd to 5th, 2022, at the fabled Dutch concert venue Ziggo Dome. It’s worth noting that the Ziggo Dome recently hosted a clubbing experiment with a sample of 1,300 attendees. Sam Feldt, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, and Lady Bee performed, among other DJs. You can read m...

In a new interview with Vulture, Serj Tankian discussed the fact that fans are always asking him to make new music with SYSTEM OF A DOWN, even though it’s been 16 years since the band released its last full-length album. He said: “Look, the fact that a lot of people are interested in us having new music is the biggest compliment in the world. It’s not frustrating to me. It’s always a compliment, because if people forgot about you as an artist, and no longer care whether you put out music or not, that would be worse, right? So, I think it’s always a compliment when there’s all that attention, and love, and wanting the new music. Now, when people come and say, ‘Fuck you. I don’t care what you think. Just give me another SYSTEM record,’ th...
THE EXPLOITED drummer William “Wullie” Buchan, the younger brother of the band’s lead singer Walter “Wattie” Buchan, suffered a heart attack Thursday night (March 11). Wattie revealed in a social media post earlier today that he is currently “in hospital waiting to see what’s happening next” with his 56-year-old sibling, who has been a member of THE EXPLOITED, on and off, since 1983. A punk rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland, THE EXPLOITED was formed in 1979 by Stevie Ross and Terry Buchan, with Buchan soon replaced by his brother Wattie. They signed to Secret Records in March 1981, and their debut EP, “Army Life”, and debut album, “Punks Not Dead”, were both released that year. THE EXPLOITED maintained a large cult fo...
Ace Frehley recently checked in with AXS TV to show viewers a few of the pieces in his rock and roll memorabilia collection. From a specially made and aged replica of his 1959 Les Paul guitar (don’t worry, he has 12 of them) to his favorite vintage piece of art, the KISS founding member joins AXS TV on its version of “show and tell,” “Rock & Tell”. Last December, Frehley told Talking Metal Live that he would begin recording his next all-original album “after the New Year.” The record will be the follow-up to “Spaceman”, which was released in October 2018 via eOne. According to Ace, he has spent the last few months building a full-fledged recording studio at his new house in New Jersey. “It’s not the first studio I’...
Fort Worth, Texas, native Clarkson, 38, the winner of the inaugural season of American Idol in 2002, boasts two other Hot Country Songs top 10s, also collaborations: “Because of You,” with Reba McEntire, reached No. 2 on 2007 — after Clarkson’s original hit No. 7 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 in 2005 — and “Under the Mistletoe,” with Brett Eldredge, jingled to No. 10 in December 2020. “Stay” also crossed over to a No. 3 peak on the Adult Contemporary chart and No. 9 on Adult Pop Airplay. It’s Aldean’s only top 10 on each tally and one of Clarkson’s 16 top 10s on each list. Clarkson, who has collected 11 Hot 100 top 10s including three No. 1s, is back for a seventh season as a coach on NBC’s The Voice, whose ...
Robinson’s particularly busy March continues with this Sunday’s Grammy Awards, for which she is a creative producer; after that, she’s got Space Jam 2 (for which she made a dance number for star Don Cheadle) and Queens, an ABC pilot starring Brandy and Eve. While taking a breath at her Ojai, Calif. home, she spoke to Billboard about stepping into some big shoes as C2A’s choreographer — and revealed some surprises in store at the Grammys. Choreography was a major part of the original Coming to America — and it was created by none other than Paula Abdul. What impact did it have on you?I mean, it’s so incredible what she created — the dance stands up today. So it was a little daunting to think I had to go up against that. ...

Freya Ridings put her own soulful spin on Olivia Rodrigo’s No. 1 smash “Drivers License” on Thursday (March 11). Filmed at The Pool Studios in London, where she previously filmed performances of her own songs “Elephant” and “Castle,” Ridings took her seat by the piano and let her low, wavering vocals take hold of the ballad. Like Rodrigo, the English singer-songwriter got none other than Taylor Swift‘s approval when she performed a slowed-down, soulful cover of “Me!” from her 2019 album Lover at BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge in July 2019. Swift reposted the clip on her Instagram Story, writing, “This cover is incredible!! Shout out to the amazing musicians/vocalists too, this made my day!” You Deserve ...
An anniversary can be celebrated with champagne or a vacation but Michael Stipe and Mike Mills from R.E.M. decided to honor the 30th anniversary of Out of Time by looking back. The duo joined Matt Wilkinson on Apple Music Hits to reminisce about the writing, legacy and everything in between. Mills and Stipe spoke about the mega-hit “Losing My Religion,” with Stipe raving about “The energy coming off of an audience, a large audience in an outdoor arena, with the first notes, those first da, da, da, da, da and the place would just explode with energy. We got all that being on stage, being elevated, being the center of attention,” the singer recalls. “It all came right towards us. It was the biggest shot in the arm. The biggest jolt of adrenaline. The most powerf...
After four long years with no new music, The Horrors have just released their highly anticipated new EP, Lout. Stream it below via Apple Music and Spotify. Lout is the first record The Horrors have put out since their 2017 studio album V. On the new EP, the indie punk rockers embrace a darker, industrial metal sound with ominous hooks (“Lout”), gritty bass (“Org”), and some unrelenting drumming (“Whiplash”). It’s a welcome sound that they sport well, and allegedly it came pretty naturally to the band. “There’s something about it which feels like a return to a heavier sound but really it’s a million miles away from anything we’ve done,” said keyboardist Tom Furse in a statement. “Keeping the sound aggressive and the beats heavy was a central tenet, everything seemed to fall around that.” “I...
