ILLENIUM Announces Release Date for Upcoming Single With iann dior, “First Time”

Earlier in the month, ILLENIUM teased that his next single would be released soon. In an effort to give some lucky fans the chance to hear what’s on the way, he met up with three of them to hand-deliver a flash drive containing a short snippet of the unreleased track. Now, ILLENIUM has announced that the tune, a collaboration with iann dior called “First Time,” will be released at the end of the week. Giving fans an extra incentive ahead of the release, he said that each one who pre-saves the single will have a chance to win free tickets to his next show in their area. As previously mentioned, three fans were each given a USB containing 10 seconds of “First Time.” The fans have since joined forces and combined their previews ...

CHEVELLE Announces New Touring Bassist

CHEVELLE drummer Sam Loeffler has revealed to the FM99 WNOR radio station that the band has secured a bass player for its upcoming shows in support of the recently released “Niratias” (Nothing Is Real And This Is A Simulation) album. “His name is Kemble Walters, and he plays in a band called ÆGES,” Sam said (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “And he’s actually the guitarist-singer in that band, but he plays bass in another band as well. And we just asked him. He’s a friend of ours; we’ve known him for many years and did lots of shows together. And we were, like, ‘Hey, man, we love you. We love your hair. Do you wanna come and play some shows?’ And he said ‘yes.’ So we’re gonna do that. And we’ll see how it ...

ALICE COOPER Predicts There Will Be ‘A Total Resurgence Of Hard Rock’

Alice Cooper has once again dismissed the notion that rock is dead, saying that “rock and roll is just too much fun to let die.” While rock and roll has been king of the music world for decades, in the past few years, it’s been unseated by the growing popularity of hip-hop. This has caused many pundits to proclaim the genre “dead” from an industry perspective, noting that it has been eclipsed in all measures by pop, hip-hop, and EDM. A few years ago, KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons told Esquire magazine that “rock did not die of old age. It was murdered. Some brilliance, somewhere, was going to be expressed and now it won’t because it’s that much harder to earn a living playing and writing songs. No one will pay you to do it.” A numb...

The new Dave Mustaine Collection will span acoustic and electric guitars across Gibson, Epiphone and Kramer. Mustaine spoke about his Gibson collaboration during a recent episode of his “The Dave Mustaine Show” on Gimme Metal radio. On February 23rd and 24th, we announced to the world that I am now a Gibson guitar ambassador for all of their brands. “I have really, really wanted to be a Gibson man ever since I got ...

Serj Tankian: I Respect John Dolmayan Very Much, But Not His American Political Views

Over the past year or so, a political divide has played out indirectly between System of a Down bandmates Serj Tankian and John Dolmayan. While Tankian’s views are strongly on the left, Dolmayan is firmly planted in the right, when it comes to American politics, in particular. Tankian supported Bernie Sanders during the presidential primaries, and repeatedly voiced his displeasure with the Trump administration. At one point during the height of the 2020 protests, the singer even called for the end of the Trump regime. And right before Trump’s presidency ended, Tankian declared, “I’ve never seen a president suck so much,” following a U.S. agreement with Turkey that appeared to minimize Armenia’s cultural heritage. Dolmayan, on the other hand, took to his Instagram account to label Democrats...

Korn’s Brian “Head” Welch Admits That He “Went Too Far” with His Christian Beliefs

Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch has professed that he “went too far” with Christianity after becoming a born-again Christian in 2005 and kicking his substance abuse problems. In fact, Welch compared his obsession with the religion to his drug addictions, opening up about his experiences in a recent appearance on the podcast No F**kin’ Regrets with Robb Flynn, hosted by the Machine Head frontman. When asked if Christianity became his “new addiction”, Welch replied, “The crazy thing is I had an experience with something from another dimension. And it wasn’t the religion — going to church and being a good boy — it was, like, I felt something come into my house, and I can’t explain it to this day. But I believe that it was Christ doing something in me. So that was real — that was very real. ...

Gary Numan Reveals the Origins of New Single “I Am Screaming”: Stream

Our new music feature Origins seeks in depth details about new songs from the artists who create them. Today, new wave legend Gary Numan wants you to hear that “I Am Screaming”. Intruder, Gary Numan’s upcoming 18th studio album, picks up the narrative of 2017’s Savage (Songs from a Broken World) from a different point of view. While that previous LP depicted a barren future wrecked by global warming, the new wave icon’s latest effort takes on the perspective of Mother Earth herself. “If Earth could speak, and feel things the way we do, what would it say? How would it feel?” Numan explained when announcing the album. Although the entirety of Intruder seeks to answer those questions, perhaps no track does so more directly than the new single “I Am Screaming”. What begins as a mournful bubbli...

Zack Snyder’s Justice League Accidentally Shown to HBO Max Subscribers Attempting to Watch Tom & Jerry

Zack Snyder’s Justice League isn’t due to hit HBO Max until March 18th, but some subscribers got an early, inadvertent look on Monday. HBO Max confirmed to Deadline that a glitch temporarily caused the first section of Justice League to stream for users trying to access the new Tom & Jerry movie. “The error was addressed within minutes,” according to HBO Max, but not before several people caught wind of the error and shared video and screenshots of the leak to social media. Snyder’s director’s cut runs four hours long and adds the Joker into the movie, with Jared Leto reprising his Suicide Squad character for the newly shot scenes. Warner Bros. provided Snyder with a reported $40 million for additional footage after he convinced the studio to do reshoots, on top of ...
