Looney Tunes Character Pepe Le Pew Called Out For Perpetuating Rape Culture, Scene Axed From “Space Jam 2”

Source: LMPC / Getty A New York Times columnist made a big stink about the iconic Looney Tunes character Pepé Le Pew in an article that touched on the character’s rapey behavior. It’s was also revealed that a scene featuring the horny skunk was removed from LeBron James’ Space Jam: A New Legacy. As of late, there has been a lot of revisionist history when it comes to certain old shows, literature, and cartoons. Columnist Charles M. Blow had right-wing Twitter in their feelings after dropping an opinion column calling out the French cartoon skunk and that he “added to rape culture,” plus highlighted six Dr. Suess books for being problematic. He also mentions Speedy Gonzalez promoting the drunk, lazy Mexican trope. Following the article’s release and tweet, the GOP had a hard-on for days cry...

BTS, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, And Everyone Else Who Will Perform At The 2021 Grammys

Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Bad Bunny, DaBaby, Doja Cat, and Post Malone will also perform. After being delayed due to coronavirus concerns, it became...

Behind Mickey Sumner’s ‘Kickass, Badass’ Snowpiercer Character

By Emlyn Travis When Mickey Sumner stepped foot back on the Snowpiercer set in October 2020, seven months after the production of the show had been shuttered due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was with a mix of fear and excitement. Prior to the lockdown in spring, eight episodes of the second season had been filmed and work had just started on the final two episodes when, in a shift that felt ripped straight out of the post-apocalyptic series, the entire world came to an abrupt, gear-grinding halt. “We had started episodes nine and ten, but we had just never completed them. So then in October, we came back for two weeks and finished the season,” she tells MTV News over the phone from her home in British Columbia. The 37-year-old actress, known for her spellbinding performances in Frances ...

Packed with frenetic drum & bass energy, the tape explodes with originals from Collins, Sub Zero, Jam Thieves and others, along with remixes from Sub Focus, North Base and more.  To boot, Collins’ show on KISS is dedicated to Women’s History Month...

REZZ Teases Collaboration With deadmau5

Fans of REZZ and deadmau5 can finally breathe a sigh of relief. After years of speculation, it seems the two mau5trap linchpins are finally completing a collaboration. It’s been a longtime coming. Word of a collaboration between the two first spread back in 2018, when REZZ shared a clip containing a preview of audio she dubbed “Rezzmau5.” Since then, it’s been nothing but hearsay—until now. While the audio above most likely won’t be the one to ultimately see an official release, REZZ took to Twitter on March 7th to update fans on her collaborative efforts with deadmau5, a longtime friend and mentor of sorts. Less than 24 hours after tweeting that she was going to create a new demo for the legendary producer, she went on to follow up with another claiming that ...

Stream Now: Documentary Exploring Gender Inequity in EDM Hits Streaming Platforms

To coincide with International Women’s Day, Underplayed, a documentary exploring gender inequity in EDM, has officially hit streaming platforms. Starting today, March 8th, you can watch Underplayed on Amazon Prime, YouTube, Apple TV, and Google Play, among other major streaming services. The film provides timely commentary on the blatant gender gap present in electronic music via interviews with many of the scene’s most prevalent artists, such as TOKiMONSTA and REZZ. “I feel like I’ve really had to prove myself more so than men, and I think a lot of women will tell you the same thing,” famed DJ and music producer Alison Wonderland told EDM.com in an October 2020 interview. “I had to work really hard for credibility as an artist.” The 20...

SKILLET Frontman Speaks Out Against ‘Cancel Culture’, Calls It ‘Very Frightening’

John Cooper, the frontman and bassist for the Grammy-nominated Christian rock band SKILLET, has spoken out against “cancel culture,” calling it “very frightening.” Cancel culture is the idea that someone, usually a celebrity or a public figure, whose ideas or comments are considered offensive should be boycotted. These people are ostracized and shunned by former friends, followers and supporters alike, leading to declines in any careers and fanbase the individual may have at any given time. Addressing the cancel culture issue on his “Cooper Stuff” podcast, Cooper said (see video below): “How does that work when Christians are making art, when Christians are making film? How do you make art in a world that wants to cancel you for, maybe, the art tha...
