To The Endless Searing Skies encapsulates every aspect of Xavi’s sound, allowing the budding producer to be wholly himself through the entirety of the LP. “By getting to use my own voice on this, I’ve been able to say so much, not only through my words but also through my instrumentation,” he said. Through each of its 10 tracks, To The Endless Searing Skies ac...

In the 2003 documentary The Making of the Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason acknowledged Menon’s outsized influence on the album’s success. “The story in America was a disaster, in that we really hadn’t sold records,” he said at the time. “And so they brought in a man called Bhaskar Menon who was absolutely terrific. He decided he was going to make this work, and make the American company sell [Dark Side of the Moon]. And he did.” Born Vijaya Bhaskar Menon in Thiruvanthapuram, India, on May 29, 1934, to father KRK — a notable civil servant who would go on to serve as India’s first Finance Minister — and mother Saraswathi, Menon would form a love of music via the Indian ragas his mother played in their home growing up. Feldstein died suddenly from a pulmonary embolism, with the Los Angeles Medical Examiner declaring his cause of death as natural. But HCC denied paying out Roc Nation’s claim and Roc Nation responded by suing in U.S. District Court Southern District of New York on Jan. 18, 2019, for wrongfully denying insurance coverage. HCC argued in court papers that Roc Nation was precluded from any recovery because the company failed to cooperate with HCC’s investigation of the claim — a contention that Roc Nation denied. HCC also argued that the policy language required the insurance payment be reduced by all future profits that could have been traceable to Feldstein’s services. To this, Roc Nation’s legal team argued that the policy’s plain language outlines that it was entitled to recoup...
SWEET, featuring original guitarist Andy Scott, has released its new single, “Set Me Free”. The song is taken from the band’s current album, “Isolation Boulevard”. “Isolation Boulevard” features all the SWEET‘s classic hit singles and was recorded with the new lineup during lockdowns between September and October 2020. It’s a reworking of SWEET‘s 1975 album multi-million-selling “Desolation Boulevard”. The latest single, “Set Me Free”, is taken from the album, and although it is one of the most covered songs in the band’s repertoire, this marks the first time SWEET has released it as an official single. Over the years, the song has been covered by many rock artists, including Vince Neil (MÖTLEY CRÜE),...

SLIPKNOT‘s Jay Weinberg spoke to Sweetwater about how he was influenced and inspired by his father Max, who has been a member of Bruce Springsteen‘s E STREET BAND since 1974. “A piece of advice that my dad passed down to me that I’m always grateful for, that’s kind of key information for any drummer to have, is you’re always gonna be best served with whatever practice you’re doing is to a metronome,” he said (see video below). “And to me, playing along to a metronome, doing exercises and just playing beats and stuff while keeping myself accountable, learning how to play with it as an instrument, to me, that’s been what serves the music that I love to play. It kind of adds that frenetic energy where it feels like a freight train th...
