Two sources familiar with the matter also tell Billboard that Swedish House Mafia has parted ways with their manager, Patriot Management’s Ron Laffitte, who took over for longtime manager Amy Thomson following the group’s 2018 reunion show. After splitting up in 2013 following their 53-date One Last Tour, the trio reunited for a show-closing performance at Ultra Music Festival 2018. There they teased a full-on reunion, with SHM member Axwell announcing to the crowd, “It’s Swedish House Mafia for life this time.” In the three years since, the group has played about a dozen dates in Europe, Asia, Mexico and Saudi Arabia, with these shows containing new, as-yet-unreleased music. In June of 2019, due to supposed scheduling conflicts, band members Sebasti...

T.I. Unequivocally Won’t Be Returning From “The Snap” In ‘Ant-Man 3’ Amidst Sexual Abuse Allegations

Source: Alberto E. Rodriguez / Getty It looks like T.I.’s Marvel Cinematic Universe run has come to an end. After numerous allegations that T.I. and his wife, Temeka “Tiny” Harris, drugged, sexually abused, and sexually assaulted women over the years, Vulture is reporting that the “Rubber Band Man” isn’t going to be reprising his role as “Dave” in Marvel’s upcoming Ant-Man 3. News of the departure comes on the heels of Atlanta entrepreneur Sabrina Peterson filing a defamation lawsuit against T.I. and Tiny, who denied Peterson’s allegations that Tip pulled a gun on her and who originally accused them of abuse. Though it would seem like T.I. was quietly pushed out the door by Marvel Studios, a rep told Variety that “T.I. was never planned to return to the third film, while The Hollywood Repo...

TMZ is reporting that the Trump-pardoned rapper was granted permission by a federal judge to travel across state lines for the sake of his career, but of course, Kodak will have to let authorities know exactly where he’s going. What, y’all thought because of his orange pardon he’d be able to do whatever the hell he pleased? Well, you’re not alone because we sort of thought so too. According to the legal docs, obtained by TMZ, the judge says KB has to provide a full itinerary to his probation officer, including where he’ll be staying during the travel. Nat...

10 Things We Learned from Fredo Bang on The Breakfast Club

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Fredo Bang’s been in the rap game for a few years now, and though he’s still looking for his true breakout record in the game, he’s made quite the name for himself in the South plus certain circles and is now looking to ride that buzz from coast to coast. Earlier this week, the Baton Rouge rapper swung by The Breakfast Club in his Southernplayalistic steez to talk about music, religion, and porn. Seriously. Answering all questions thrown at him by Angela Yee, DJ Envy, and Charlamagne Tha God, Fredo obviously doesn’t have a problem living his life as an open book and isn’t scared to be judged by fans and listeners regardless of how “embarrassing” something might seem. Gotta respect that. Here are the 10 things we learned from Fredo Bang. Though Boosie Badazz is ...

A “Fish DJ” Used Her Own Speaker System to Study How Fish Hear

By now we all know the power of music goes far beyond our species.  There are countless videos of cows flocking to hear the sound of live instruments and dogs dancing alongside their owners. Now, a DJ-turned researcher from The University of Queensland is using her experience in music production to better understand our aquatic neighbors.  PhD candidate Rebecca Poulsen, affectionately known as the “Fish DJ,” has harnessed her musical prowess to investigate the brain networks and hearing of zebrafish larvae. After designing a special speaker system and combining it with whole-brain imaging, she discovered that baby fish actually hear much better than we had originally thought. Poulsen posits that people don’t often consider underwater hearing, but notes that it i...

Wolvero Drops Menacing 4-Track House EP, “Void”

After the release of his Kittrix-assisted single “Freak” in Janurary 2021, Wolvero is keeping hit foot on the gas pedal. The San Francisco-based dance music beatsmith has released a scintillating new EP called Void. Spanning four tracks, Void is a song-cycle of haunting house bangers. Wolvero kicks off the record with “All Aboard,” a bouncy four-on-the-floor tech house jam with a pre-drop vocal sample that should be a hit on club dance-floors. He follows with “Lightning,” a collaboration with Celestic that employs thick sub bass in its drops for a more menacing feel. “Sky Fall” strikes more of a warehouse feel with thumping industrial kicks and a spacey, minimal arrangement before he brings Void home with “Soul,...

New York Concert Venues Will Be Allowed To Reopen At 33% Capacity In April

Starting on April 2, concerts in New York state will be allowed to resume at 33 percent capacity, with a limit of 100 people indoors or 200 people outdoors, and a requirement that all attendees wear masks and be socially distanced. According to The New York Times, those limits would be increased — to 150 people indoors or 500 people outdoors — if all attendees test negative before entering. Because of the state’s order that venues require social distancing and mask-wearing, some promoters and venue operators say that reopening simply isn’t economically feasible. “Given that social distancing is still part of the metric, it brings us back down to an approximate 20 percent capacity, which is untenable,” Michael Swier, the owner of the New York City rock clubs Bowery B...

ANVIL’s LIPS Defends TED NUGENT: ‘He Never Says Anything Without The Backing Of Real Hard Statistics’

In a new interview with “The Chuck Shute Podcast”, ANVIL frontman Steve “Lips” Kudlow was asked if he would ever debate outspoken conservative rocker Ted Nugent on some of the issues they are both passionate about. Lips responded (see video below): “It’s interesting. He’s definitely got different views, especially when it comes to marijuana; we’d probably be at each other’s throats over that. But a lot of what he says is truth, logic and common sense. You can get angry at me — go ahead — but when you tell people the truth, they usually get pissed off, and that’s what a lot of people get when they hear Ted talk. “I’m an environmentalist and so is he, but we actually have a lot of places where we are in complete fucking ...
