Source: Complex / Complex Every real sneakerhead out there now how painful it is to take L’s on those Saturday mornings when hyped up sneakers drop in limited quantities, but what’s more painful at times are knowing there are exclusive kicks out there we’ll never get a chance to copp. That just so happens to be the case with Travis Scott who has a handful of exclusive “Friends and Family” Air Jordan 1‘s and IV’s that hypebeasts dream of owning one day. Producers were delighted when Ableton 11 Live, the latest incarnation of the Ableton digital audio workstation software, dropped on Tuesday. The latest edition has a slew of newly introduced features, like comping and MPE, tools for new devices, and a host of others. Also included in 11 Live is a demo track from none other than Australian producer, DJ, and songwriter Ninajirachi, who created the track to allow users to explore her processes and utilize working stems within the project file. Music producers can find it within their version of Ableton and use it as inspiration. “It’s such an honor to work on a project like this and I’m really grateful for the opportunity,” said Ninajirachi in a statement on her track for Ableton. “Getting to know all of Ableton’s...
Just after iconic dance music innovators Daft Punk announced their split earlier this week, EMI has announced that the duo’s earliest albums, Homework and the Alive 1997 live album that followed, will be re-issued on vinyl today. Homework was Daft Punk’s debut album, also released in 1997. Alive 1997 was recorded at Birmingham’s Que Club that same year. The vinyl re-releases of the two albums are very welcome news since the seminal dance musicians announced their split last Monday with a short film called Epilogue, which served as the final chapter to not only Daft Punk’s Electroma feature film, but also their career as a whole. Homework and Alive 1997 have officially been re-issued via EMI today. You can purchase Homework here an...
It’s no secret that gaming and electronic music go together like wine and cheese. The two have lived in perfect harmony for decades. However, unlike cheese, the ingredients of this unique marriage never seem to spoil. In fact, like cheese’s boozy counterpart, it gets better with age. In the wake of ambitious, headline-grabbing EDM and gaming crossover ventures from the likes of Fortnite and Cyberpunk 2077, renowned electronic tastemaker Monstercat opted to go in a different direction. Teaming up with dance music vet Kaskade—who also seems to be becoming more fruitful with age after a dizzying flurry of new music in 2020—they joined forces with Psyonix’s flagship Rocket League game to produce a number of original songs for in-game play. Kaskade will now release a full EP o...
AVENGED SEVENFOLD singer M. Shadows spoke to Pablo of the Minneapolis, Minnesota radio station 93X about the progress of the recording sessions for the band’s long-awaited follow-up to 2016’s “The Stage” album. He said (see video below): “We’re working on stuff. We have pretty much 70 percent of the record done. We have some things we can’t finish right now ’cause of COVID — string players, et cetera. We know Andy [Wallace, AVENGED SEVENFOLD‘s longtime mixer] doesn’t wanna travel, or his management doesn’t want him to travel because of COVID. So there’s just a lot of things going on.” As for when fans can expect to see the new AVENGED SEVENFOLD LP released, M. Shadows said: “It doesn’t make sense for ...
