Petition Started To Name A Long Island Street After KMD And MF DOOM

Source: PYMCA / Getty MF DOOM is gone but not forgotten. A request has been filed to make an intersection in Long Island, NY a tribute to Hip-Hop’s only true supervillain. As spotted on Hypebeast, a petition has been created to honor the late great MC.  Reportedly, professor and Long Beach, NY native Dr. Patrick Graham, has formally requested that the East Hudson Street block between Riverside Boulevard and Long Beach road be changed to “KMD-MF DOOM Way”. This is the area where the “Rapp Snitch Knishes” rapper grew up. “Hip-hop leaders credit Mr. Dumile as one of the most prolific rap artists of all time. His life served as an example of inclusive community building and growth through individual struggle. Long Beach profoundly influenced his adolescents,” the petition reads. “Mr....

Infamous Cocaine Kingpin Rayful Edmond’s Life Sentence Reduced, Told On Everybody, Allegedly

Source: The Washington Post / Getty The name Rayful Edmond III rings bells in the DMV and throughout hood barbershops across the nation due to his cocaine trafficking exploits in the 1980’s and 1990’s. While he may have been serving a life sentence for his crimes, word is he is now getting released after years of dropping dime, on everyone, allegedly. FOX 5 DC reports that his sentence has been reduced because he cooperated with federal prosecutors, and there are court documents indicating as such. Often credited with introducting crack cocaine to Washington, Edmond is now 54 years old and had been in jail since 1989, but continued to sell drugs even after his incarceration. However, federal prosecutors agree that he has been a help to the government, and asked that his sentence be reduced...

GRVYRDS Drops Wild New Single “$$$”

GRVYRDS has emerged to break some speakers with his latest single “$$$,” a wild bass music production from start to finish that will leave listeners on the edge of their seats. It’s a shame live events aren’t in action at the moment, because this would be an absolute show stopper. “$$$” is an impressive trap hybrid, incorporating devious breaks around every corner with explosive bass patches and thunderous 808s. GRVYRDS features a smooth rap topline over the depravity of the production, whichi makes it feel like it would fit perfectly into the energy of a Travis Scott set. He expertly interpolates those vocals with the drop’s wonky sound design, delivering a track that represents the best of both worlds in terms of trap and dubstep. Check out ...

Sign the Petition to Declare April 17th “Drum & Bass Day”

Since the early 1990s, drum & bass has been a staple in the world of electronic music. Nearly three decades in, the genre has spread from the United Kingdom throughout the world and continues to innovate and impress with its intricate sound design, crushing low-end energy, heart-wrenching melodies, and danceable grooves. With such a diverse array of sound within itself, it’s safe to say that drum & bass will continue to be a crowd favorite for years to come. With that in mind, as well as the state of the locked-down world amid COVID-19, The Blast UK thought that now would be the perfect time to celebrate drum & bass and its persistent fanbase, who have helped keep the genre alive throughout the years and even through the brutal COVID-19 epoch, when live events completely evapor...

To celebrate that track going 4x Platinum, he shared a clip that shows a text conversation between the two, wherein he tells the pop star, “I think it’s time we gave them another one” before sending a short audio clip. This is a promo, of course, so viewers weren’t treated to any real audio. They’re only able to see its waveform. Regardless, fans can find solace in Gomez’s response, which confirms a collaborative song on the horizon. “OMG I love this!” she wrote. &#...

Access All Worlds – IOTUNN

RATING: 9/10 Heavy music is often at its most powerful when, on a creative level, caution is thrown to the wind. But you don’t generally expect bands to smash open the doors of riff-centric perception on their debut album. Therefore, it seems reasonable to infer that IOTUNN are not like other bands. Not least due to the magical vocal presence and charisma of HAMFERБs Jón Aldará, “Access All Worlds” is, from start to finish, an immersive, spine-tingling feast for the ears. Audaciously tricky to pin down, this Danish crew have conjured something wonderfully distinctive here. Marrying the epic bluster of black and pagan metal to the lysergic rush of space rock and the strident melodies of the prog and power worlds, they’ve conjured something simultaneously fresh...

I was lucky enough to find the perfect guys for this, and it’s great to be playing original music again with my SHADOWS FALL bandmate Matt Bachand. I can’t wait to share some music with everyone.” Singer Jeff Gar...

Todd‘s songwriting partner Craig Blackwell delivers a punishing guitar riff fronted by Todd singing and screaming as fans have not heard before. Without Getting Killed or Caught

This film will do much to educate those unaware of the immense talent that bubbled out of Nashville, and then Texas, in the ‘70s.  The documentary, Without Getting Killed or Caught, tells the story of three immensely talented and interconnected artists: Guy Clark, his best friend Townes Van Zandt and Susanna Clark, who loved them both. Live clips, clever animations and home movies are interspersed with more recent interview clips. As the story unfolds, Susanna paints while Guy and Townes struggle to hone their songwriting skill...

Wolf Alice Announce New Album, Share ‘The Last Man on Earth’

Wolf Alice has shared “The Last Man On Earth,” the first single from their just-announced third album, Blue Weekend. The LP is due for release on June 11 via Dirty Hit/RCA Records. The tune is about “the arrogance of humans,” singer and guitarist Ellie Roswell said in a statement. “I’d just read Kurt Vonnegut’s Cat’s Cradle and I had written the line ‘Peculiar travel suggestions are dancing lessons from god’ in my notes. But then I thought: ‘Uh, your peculiar travel suggestion isn’t a dancing lesson from god, it’s just a travel suggestion! Why does everything need to mean something more?’” The record was made while the British band stayed at an Airbnb in Somerset, U.K. There, they “cemented their friendship and set to work on some fledgling demos in a converted church,” Wolf Alic...
