Fox posted a tribute to her “unusually handsome boy” as well, using descriptions like “magical and haunted” and “ethereal and dangerous” and writing, “the journey will likely be perilous but there is no destination without him.” Her post featured a slideshow of personal pictures showing off their connection. For some fans, MGK’s gesture brought to mind former couple Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton’s alleged blood vial necklaces. “You know those lockets you buy that are clear and you put a picture of your grannie in and wear it around your neck?” Thornton said in 2014, addressing the chatter years after their early 2000s relationship. “She bought two of those. We were apart a lot because she’s off maki...
John Cooper, the frontman and bassist for the Grammy-nominated Christian rock band SKILLET, spoke to “The Andrew Brunet Show” about his recently released debut book, “Awake & Alive To Truth (Finding Truth In The Chaos Of A Relativistic World)”. Regarding his inspiration for writing the book, John said (see video below): “I gave my life to Christ when I was a kid. My mom was a fanatical follower of Jesus, all right? [Laughs] A Jesus freak. And I mean that in one-hundred-percent good way, in case anybody doesn’t know. A fanatical Jesus freak. And my mom taught me about the Bible, ever since I was a kid. I can’t remember not learning about the Bible. I had an older brother, and before he would go to school, my mom would sit us down and she’d...
LAST IN LINE bassist Phil Soussan spoke to the “Pat’s Soundbytes Unplugged” podcast about the progress of the recording sessions for the band’s third album. The follow-up to 2019’s “II” is tentatively due later this year via an as-yet-undetermined record label. “The new album is, of course, subject to a lot of whatever everyone has been going through,” Phil said (see video below). “So we have a couple of challenges. We’re in between record deals at the moment, so that’s something we’re working on; we have meetings about that, actually, tomorrow. In the meantime, we have written about half the record. We’ve written six songs, I think. Four are definitely completed, and the other two are in various stages of ...

Steve Riley has defended his version of L.A. GUNS against criticism from Phil Lewis, saying that his comments are “really childish.” Riley‘s version of L.A. GUNS is not to be confused with the band led by Lewis and guitarist Tracii Guns, which issued two well-received albums, “The Missing Peace” and “The Devil You Know”, plus the live release “Made In Milan”, under the L.A. GUNS name over the last four years. Riley‘s version of L.A. GUNS made its live debut in May 2019 at the M3 Rock Festival. The drummer is joined in the group by Orlando, Florida-based guitarist/vocalist Kurt Frohlich, bassist Kelly Nickels (a member of L.A. GUNS‘ “classic” incarnation) and guitarist Scott Griffin (who played bass for the band f...

The Pitch: Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo reunite as screenwriters a decade after Bridesmaids, this time co-starring as the eponymous leads in a new raunchy comedy. Is the magic still there for another hugely successful laugh riot? A Movie That Oughta Be in Theaters: Movies like Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar are a good reason why it remains heartbreaking that movie theaters are mostly ghost towns these days. The new comedy from Lionsgate Pictures was originally intended for theatrical release last summer, and there’s little doubt that it would be best served by playing in front of a large, boisterous crowd. It’s not to suggest that Barb and Star is bad; anything but. Yet it’s undeniably the kind of film that would work at the height of its powers with a ready audience gobbling up every ...
For the fifth consecutive week, disgraced country singer Morgan Wallen has the No. 1 album in America. Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album had already ascended to top of the Billboard 200 prior to TMZ posting video of him using a racial slur. However, in the aftermath of the video, Wallen saw his album and song sales surge — even as his radio play and playlist inclusions diminished. He remained at No. 1 at the close of last week, and he’s still sitting there as of this week. There had been some thought that because the Billboard charts are traditionally one week behind, Wallen wouldn’t see the impact of his media blackout until this week. Well, the data is in, and that theory is not playing out. In fact, sales of Dangerous are continuing to *increase* week over week. Physical sales of the...

Having owned 2020 and conquered Dave Grohl in an epic drum battle, 10-year-old Nandi Bushell has now set her sights on the Mount Rushmore of rock drummers. Her latest YouTube video sees her dedicating a drum cover of The Who classic “My Generation” to the late, great Keith Moon. Moon is in the pantheon of drumming gods along with the likes of Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham and Rush’s Neil Peart, among others, but that didn’t stop young Nandi from tackling the iconic Who song. As she’s shown us in her previous videos, she’s incredibly talented. What’s more, she’s a bundle of energy and joy behind the kit. “My Generation” is a fitting choice for Nandi, as she represents a new generation of young rockers. It was also, in many ways, one of the first punk songs before punk rock was even a thing — w...
