In 2006, when TESLA needed a new guitar player to replace original member Tommy Skeoch, Dave Rude took the job and the band hasn’t looked back since. TESLA bassist Brian Wheat, who is promoting his recently released autobiography, “Son Of A Milkman: My Crazy Life With Tesla”, spoke to “The SDR Show” about how Rude landed the gig. “Frank Hannon [TESLA guitarist], he does a lot of social media,” he said. “He found Dave Rude on MySpace. He said, ‘I saw this guy. His picture looks really cool. So then I checked him out, and he’s got some cool songs.’ And I said, ‘Well, cool. Get together with him, play and let’s see what happens.’ And then Dave came to my studio. Frank was there. And him and Frank were out ther...
KORN guitarist Brian “Head” Welch spoke to “Whiplash”, the KLOS radio show hosted by Full Metal Jackie, about the role of music in his life, especially as someone who got sober and found faith more than a decade and a half ago. “I just feel like music is so important for the human soul — for some more than others,” he said (hear audio below). “We’re all created different; we’ve all got different things going, different mechanisms, or whatever you call it, in us. “I’m an emotional guy, and I feel greatly — I feel the highs and I feel the lows,” he continued. “And so music has really been there for me to help carry me out of the lows and help me soar in the highs. And for now, I just feel like music balances me in ...
Alice Cooper spoke to Noise 11 about his decision to record a cover version of OUTRAGEOUS CHERRY‘s 2005 song “Our Love Will Change The World”. The track will appear on his upcoming album, “Detroit Stories”, due out February 26 via earMUSIC. “Well, that song in particular was a really interesting song,” Alice said (see video below). “We wanted to cover Motown, we wanted to cover punk, we wanted to cover blues — that’s all Detroit, mostly hard rock. But that song came out of an ’80s psychedelic punk band called OUTRAGEOUS CHERRY. And we heard the song, and we couldn’t get it out of our mind — the song was so catchy. And so I listened to it, and I said [to my producer Bob Ezrin], ‘Bob, listen to this. This song is so happ...
Corey Taylor‘s wife has recounted a hilarious incident that nearly derailed the couple’s wedding day more than a year ago. The SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman married Alicia Taylor, a professional dancer and a member of the all-girl dance group CHERRY BOMBS, in October 2019 in their hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada. The reception was reportedly held in their home and was attended by a number of their friends and fellow musicians, including Roy Mayorga of STONE SOUR, Kyle Sanders of HELLYEAH, and Lajon Witherspoon of SEVENDUST. Earlier today, in honor of Valentine’s Day, Alicia shared a photo of the iconic 1960s Shelby Cobra vehicle she and Corey rented for their wedding day, and she revealed how car trouble almost ruined the end of one of the important days of their lives. ...
Source: NBC / Getty Regina King was the host of last night’s (Feb. 13) episode of Saturday Night Live, and of course she held it down. The Oscar-winning actress kicked things off with an opening monologue that featured some woke actual factuals as well as some assistance from SNL vet Kenan Thompson. [embedded content] “If you’re Black you probably know me from being in some of your favorite movies. If you’re white you probably know me from Watchmen or this monologue,” said King matter-of-factly when discussing her wild career that includes sitcom 227 and voicing both Riley and Huey in The Boondocks. She then hit the audience with, “Whenever Black fame gets too crazy for me, I just go to the next white town and I’m the regular suspicious shopper again,” which led to some uncomfortable ...
Source: Kevin Winter / Getty Still no word on when Atlanta is coming back since its 3rd season has been delayed (for two years now), but it’s not like Donald Glover is just chilling at home. The multi-talented actor will be starring in a remake of Mr. and Mrs. Smith alongside actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge that’s set to drop next year via Amazon Prime. The OG Mr. and Mrs. Smith starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as secret assassins and dropped in 2005. It was Glover who revealed the remake is in the works via social media. Reports Page Six: The project was announced on Instagram — in pandemic fashion, quite literally. Waller-Bridge, 35, wore pajamas to film herself striking a pose in a doorway — the same leg lift Jolie, 45, did for the film’s movie poster and promotional materials. Glover,...
