And when Lauren emerged, she showed him the test and declared, “It says it is.” Translation: A positive situation. The Sorrentinos, who bravely opened up about a miscarriage they endured shortly after Mike returned home from prison, embraced and shed a few tears (us too) as the reality set in that they would soon be Mom and Dad. “I’ve ...

In between lounging by the pool and taking some home video, this is exactly what Grande does. Run the Jewels Fulfill Destiny, Get Quoted During Trump’s Impeachment Trial

The January 6th Capitol insurrection was an unholy calamafuck that resulted in an unprecedented second impeachment of Donald Trump. Those hoping to convict face an uphill battle, but if nothing else comes of it, the trial at least allowed Run the Jewels to fulfill their destiny. On February 10th, Rep. Stacey Plaskett quoted the lyrics “Truth is truth, whether denied or not,” entering the RTJ2 song “Early” into the official Congressional Record to make the case that — to summarize — Trump is guilty as fuck. Plaskett is a representative of the US Virgin Islands, and she made a bit of history herself when she became the first non-voting delegate to join a team of House impeachment managers. On February 10th, she addressed Congress and opened with a quote from Wu-Tang maestro GZA. “T...

‘American Idol’ Was the First Show to React to COVID. Can They Be the First to ‘Pivot Back’ to Normal?

Instead, Kinane says they came up with “Idol Across America,” teaming with Zoom to create a custom audition process that tried to mirror the old way of auditioning as closely as possible. The new style included creating a huge Zoom room contestants signed in to from home, where they might find ex-Idol cast members sharing stories of their auditions as well as advice. The singers were then filtered through to producers in breakout rooms, which Kinane says actually ended up working to the show’s advantage and allowed Idol to virtually visit all 50 states for the first time in its 19-year history. “Everybody got seen by an Idol producer,” according to Kinane, who says she then sorted through the cream of the crop with Idol executive producer Megan Michaels W...
