Marilyn Manson Issues Statement on Abuse Accusations
Earlier today, Evan Rachel Wood and four additional women accused Marilyn Manson of abuse. Following their statements, Loma Vista Recordings dropped Manson from its label. Now, Manson has issued a statement of his own, denying the accusations. “Obviously, my life and my art have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality. My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how — and why — others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth,” the statement, posted on Instagram, reads. Marilyn Manson Dropped by Record Label in Wake of Evan Rachel Wood’s Abuse Allegations
Following allegations of abuse levied by five women, including his former partner Evan Rachel Wood, Marilyn Manson has been dropped by his record label, Loma Vista Recordings. “In light of today’s disturbing allegations by Evan Rachel Wood and other women naming Marilyn Manson as their abuser, Loma Vista will cease to further promote his current album, effective immediately,” the label said in a statement. “Due to these concerning developments, we have also decided not to work with Marilyn Manson on any future projects.” Manson had released his two most recent albums through Loma Vista, including 2020’s We Are Chaos. The series will include Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth, Ghost, Sepultura, Opeth, Dream Theater, and Lacuna Coil. The upcoming comic book releases will offer variant covers on DC’s 2020 Dark Nights: Death Metal series. Each issue will depict one of the acts on the cover, along with an introduction from the band and an exclusive interview. HBO Max is developing a Batman spin-off series for TV, and apparently they’re crafting a Batman miniseries for your ears, too. Say hello to Batman: The Audio Adventures, a new podcast by HBO Max starring Jeffrey Wright as the Caped Crusader. Don’t expect it to get too dark, however, because the roll call also includes comedic actors like Seth Meyers, Jason Sudeikis, and dozens more. Written and directed by Dennis McNicholas, Batman: The Audio Adventures is a multi-episode series that’s putting “a comedic take” on the Dark Knight, notes The Hollywood Reporter. Dustin Diamond, best known for playing Screech on NBC’s beloved 1980s and ’90s teen sitcom Saved By the Bell, has died, outlets are reporting.
