Lita Ford spoke to SiriusXM‘s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk” about the progress of the recording sessions for her long-awaited new solo album. The follow-up to 2012’s “Living Like A Runaway” is once again being helmed by guitarist/producer Gary Hoey, who contributes some guitar playing to the disc, alongside the rest of Ford‘s backing band, which continues to consist of guitarist Patrick Kennison, drummer Bobby Rock and bassist Marty O’Brien. “[Gary] and I have been working back and forth on this new record for quite a few years now,” Lita said. “It’s been a process. But what I do is when I have an idea, I call Gary, I call his wife Nicole, and I’m, like, ‘Nicole, does Gary have a break in his schedule? Wh...
THE DEAD DAISIES have already completed writing the follow-up to the “Holy Ground” album, which was released last week. Recorded at La Fabrique Studios in the south of France with producer Ben Grosse, “Holy Ground” was THE DEAD DAISIES‘ first LP to feature Glenn Hughes, who joined the group in 2019 as its new bassist and vocalist, replacing John Corabi (MÖTLEY CRÜE) and Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY). Speaking to “The Neil Jones Rock Show” on TotalRock Radio earlier today (Wednesday, January 27), Hughes said: “I’ve just been given the go-ahead to tell media — so you’re getting kind of an exclusive today — I have written a whole new DAISIES album, a new one, between May and August. And we are going to get into that in the next three or...
THE PRETTY RECKLESS frontwoman Taylor Momsen spoke to Terrie Carr of the Morristown, New Jersey radio station 105.5 WDHA about the importance of seeing her vision through to full execution while making music with her bandmates. “I’m fine with compromising, but I’m not fine with compromising when it comes to art,” she said (see video below). “Anything that has to do with artistic expression — so from the songs to the production to the videos to the visuals — anything artistic, that has to be my way or just I’m not interested. Otherwise, what’s the point? I’m expressing myself. If you want to be a part of that, then that’s awesome. If you have a different vision for or you want to guide me in some other path, then I’m not the right ...

It’s been an empty first month of the year without the bone-rattling synths of Space Mom guiding the way. Luckily, dance music fans won’t have to wait much longer after REZZ announced that she will be dropping a new track next week. While the track’s title and specific release date have yet to be announced, it’s safe to assume it’s a must-listen if REZZ is behind the production. In August of last year, it was revealed that she was working on a new album, which means her first single of 2021 could theoretically be from the upcoming project. Check out her announcement below. Last year, REZZ added some major hits to her already impressive discography. She dropped two powerhouse collaborations, “Into The Abyss” with Zeds Dead and the jaw-drop...
At long last, Porter Robinson has finally dropped the curtain on “Look At The Sky,” one of his most anticipated track releases in recent memory. Shovels & Rope (photo by Todd Cooper) and Sharon Van Etten (photo by Ryan Pfluger) Shovels & Rope have teamed up with Sharon Van Etten for a cover of The Beach Boys’ “In My Room”. The track is part of an upcoming covers collection called Busted Jukebox Volume 3 that’s loosely inspired by the act of parenting. The first two installments of Shovels & Rope’s collaborative series arrived in 2015 and 2017, respectively, and both of those projects were loaded with guests like Brandi Carlile and Shakey Graves. Volume 3 has the cheeky alternative titled Busted Juicebox because all of the guests musicians are parents themselves, and the songs they chose to cover — from lullabies and American songbook standards, to R.E.M. and Janis Joplin cuts — are emotionally relate...
Acclaimed musicians Pino Palladino and Blake Mills have combined their talents on a new joint album. Notes with Attachments is due for release on March 12th via New Deal/Impulse! Records. The forthcoming LP was originally envisioned as a solo album from Palladino, a Grammy-winning songwriter, producer, and bassist best known for his work on D’Angelo’s Voodoo and Black Messiah albums, as well as projects with Nine Inch Nails, Adele, and Perfume Genius. However, Mills’ input eventually led to the realization that a full-fledged collaborative effort would bring out the best in them both. “It all evolved from me playing Blake a few ideas, getting a reaction from [him] and seeing if he’d be interested in working on [them],” Palladino explained in a statement. “As the project evol...
Shares of GameStop (GME) opened at more than $350 today after starting the month at around $17 a share. This has led a generation of half-dead old white guys to spit out their coffees onto their Wall Street Journals, demanding to know: what happened? Via New York Times, The Motley Fool, and CNBC, a Reddit board has used an avalanche of small trades to exploit an enormous bet made by the hedge fund Melvin Capital, with the little investors making a killing while the billionaires took a bath. The story begins with a financial practice called “shorting,” which happens when an investor is convinced that a stock price will go down. They borrow shares from a lender with an agreement to give the stock back at a later date. In the meantime, the investor hopes to make some money. First, t...
In December, Death Cab For Cutie released The Georgia EP, serving up covers of bands including R.E.M., Cat Power and TLC, and last night (Jan. 26), they turned in a tender socially-distanced live version of a song from that record – TLC’s “Waterfalls” — on Jimmy Kimmel Live! A year into the COVID-19 pandemic, many bands are now performing together in one room, but in a flashback to 2020, frontman Ben Gibbard and the band played remotely from their own homes and studios. TLC’s 1995 hit “Waterfalls,” has been covered live and on albums by Eve 6, Bette Midler, Meshell Ndegeocello and even parodied by “Weird Al” Yankovic as “Phony Calls.” Check out the performance below. [embedded content] Gibbard kept busy during 2020, dedicating a live performance of Death Cab for Cutie’s “No...
