HHW Tech Review: Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro Has One New Feature That Puts It In A Class By Itself

Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz83 I loved Samsung’s Galaxy Buds+ and appreciated the follow-up Galaxy Buds Live. Now the company is kicking off the new year with the even more impressive Galaxy Buds Pro. Samsung’s clear answer to Apple’s AirPods Pro has arrived and quickly has become one of the items I HAVE TO CARRY WITH ME when I hit these socially distant streets. Design & Quality Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz83 I love two things about Samsung, the company listens to its customers and constantly learns from its previous models and applies that to new designs. That continues to be the case with Galaxy Buds Pro, with  Samsung deciding to take design aspects from both the Galaxy Buds+ and Galaxy Buds Live to bring the Galaxy Buds Pro to fruition. W&W Remix One of the World’s First Memes, “Dragostea Din Tei”—AKA the “Numa Numa Song”

The year is 2004. All of our phones flipped, none of them connected to the Internet, and the term “social media” meant nothing to us. Rather than spending hours in bed scrolling through memes with our thumbs, we sat down at our computers and played flash games through an ultra-fast dial-up or hi-tech DSL connection. If any of this sounds familiar to you, then you must be familiar with one of the world’s oldest memes, the Numa Numa Dance. Viewed close to a billion times, for those unfamiliar, the meme was nothing more than a grainy webcam video of a man lip-syncing and dancing to the 2003 single “Dragostea Din Tei” by the Moldovan Eurodance trio, O-Zone. To the younger readers: Yes, this is seriously what the internet was like in the early 2000s. Be grateful fo...

Watch Unearthed, Never-Before-Seen Footage of Daft Punk’s 2007 Lollapalooza Performance

Until Daft Punk reemerges from the shadows (maybe at this year’s Super Bowl?), any new footage of the legendary duo should be considered a win.  A YouTube channel that broadcasts archival concert content has shared a 1.5-hour video containing never-before-seen footage from Daft Punk’s iconic 2007 set at Chicago’s famed Lollapalooza music festival. The duo cycled through a slew of their biggest hits in their performance, including “Harder Better Faster Stronger,” “Around the World,” and “One More Time,” among many others. The uploader said the source video was shared with him by a tape trader, who had seen the amateur 3-cam video of Daft Punk’s Las Vegas Vegoose 2007 set on his channel, which has since...

Australia Dance Music Festival Shut Down by Police After Drunken Brawl

The vibes at Australia’s Gold Coast Vibez festival were killed after a drunken brawl forced police to shut down the event. 10 News First Queensland reports that officers had to use pepper spray on revelers after a fight broke out at the dance music festival on Stradbroke Island in Queensland. The fest’s security guards reportedly had trouble quashing the brawl, which eventually spilled into the Queensland Ambulance medical tent set up at the event. Extra officers were dispatched and ferried over to the island before finally subduing the fight and transporting festival-goers back to the mainland. Police said that no one was arrested, but they are investigating the matter further. According to 7NEWS Australia, those involved in the brawl were “drunk, ang...

Kaskade Continues Monstercat and Rocket League Hot Streak With New Single “Closer”

Continuing his innovative hot streak with Monstercat and the popular vehicular soccer game Rocket League, Kaskade has returned with his new single “Closer.” The third release to arise from the partnership after “Flip Reset” and “Solid Ground,” this new tune comes with a celebratory launch. Starting today, Rocket League is taking over Fortnite’s “Radio Yonder” live across airways in-game, with none other than Kaskade himself as its host. “Closer” employs a melodic house beat, spellbinding synths, and hypnotic vocals for a dark and dreamy feel. The song is dynamic, moving from a house-heavy intro into an alluring buildup, then into the drop with ease. “Working on ‘Closer’ felt like coming home for me,” Kaskade explained. “There’s a lot to be said for the comfort of warm chords, v...

Harry Potter Live-Action TV Series in the Works at HBO Max

It’s time to choose your wand and grab a spot in line for the Sorting Hat, because a new Harry Potter live-action TV series is in the works at HBO Max. According to The Hollywood Reporter, executives at the streaming service have been holding brainstorming conversations with potential writers to imagine new ways to steer the Harry Potter franchise. However, the TV series is still a long way off from becoming a reality. Right now, there’s no writer attached, no plot hammered down, and no cast in mind, which means they’re still in the “extremely early stages and no deals have been made,” notes THR Because the live-action Harry Potter TV show is still searching for a pitch, the creative teams at HBO Max and Warner Bros. are hesitant to announce this news themselves. As they said in a sta...

Chino Moreno of Deftones (photo by Debi Del Grande), Ohms Pale Ale (courtesy of Belching Beaver) Deftones and California brewery Belching Beaver have announced their latest craft beer collaboration, Ohms Pale Ale. The new beer continues the five-year partnership between the band and the Oceanside brewery. Deriving its name from Deftones’ excellent 2020 album, the dry-hopped ale comes in at a solid 5.5% ABV. “The first thing you’ll notice is the bright, citrusy aromas,” Belching Beaver states in a social media announcement. “There’s plenty of lemon peel, grapefruit, and pineapple aromas with a blend of some light pine to give a more nuanced and complex tableau that isn’t found in a lot of pale ales. The finish is nice, light, and very refreshing. Hands down, one of the best thirst-quenching...
