Remembering The Best (And Most Dramatic) MTV Dating Series

Watching your favorite dating show is one thing — and giving your feedback in real time is quite the other. And now, thanks to a brand-new online series, you can do just that. Faraway Bae, hosted by The Circle‘s Joey Sasso, is a virtual and interactive series which will follow YouTube star Dominic DeAngelis as he navigates a field of ladies. Faraway Bae viewers will be able to interact with the cast in real-time and direct the action via any of the social platforms streaming the show, including YouTube, Twitch, Periscope, Facebook, and TVCO. Also on board to mix cocktails and provide dating guidance is the TikTok-famous Paradise Bartender, Ashley Hupp. “I’m all in favor of unconventional dating experiences, and I’m ready to put myself out there,” the Cooking with Do...

Billie Eilish And Rosalía Finally Drop Their Long-Awaited Collab ‘Lo Vas A Olvidar’

Last April, Rosalía was waiting for Billie Eilish to send her vocal contributions for their much-teased collaboration. “I feel like the production, the sound design, is almost done,” she told Variety at the time, “so I just need that Billie maybe sends the vocals and they send me the ideas that they want to add because we are there.” It might’ve taken a while to finalize, but the vocals were sent. The ideas were added. And now, the finished product is out, complete with a gauzy, skeletal video that matches the mood of the song itself. That song is called “Lo Vas a Olvidar” and it features both Rosalía and Eilish singing in Spanish. Featuring trademark sparse production from Eilish’s brother/collaborator Finneas, “Lo Vas a Olvidar”...

It Finally Happened: Deena And Angelina Spoke On Jersey Shore — After Nearly A Year

Eight little words and a single plate of bruschetta was all it took for two roommates to mend fences. Tonight’s Jersey Shore: Family Vacation kicked off awkwardly enough with a family-dinner-turned-couples-retreat to welcome Pauly’s D’s main chick Nikki to the fam. (Sorry side piece, Vin.) Deena, who hadn’t faced her former roommate since that wedding, had agreed to attend on one condition: Angelina had to sit at the opposite end of the table. Following some mindless group chatter about oatmeal recipes, sweet tea, and scented pinecones, the meatball was the one to initiate contact for the first time in nearly a year with an innocent request: “Angelina, do you mind passing me the bruschetta?” (Also known as a simple ...

Zayn’s Bare Hymn, Kota The Friend’s Brooklyn Bop, And More Songs We Love

24-year-old indie-rocker Samia dropped her debut studio album The Baby last August, so the title is hardly a misnomer. But it’s a new year now. The Baby has to make room for its younger sibling The Baby Reimagined, a new collection of remixes from 11 different artists. Palehound’s spacey, slowed-down take on “Big Wheel” is a standout. Added guitars and warped vocals create the perfect backdrop for her simmering frustration. “God, I’m really gonna blow with all this empathetic shit,” she sings. “I understand the thing you did and every reason you did it.” Also of note: The “lover in my bedroom” here is a “she,” not a “he.” I got good news, and I didn’t fight! —Sam Manzella You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. I...

Watch Diplo Make a Beat Using His Tesla

From self-driving to generating wet fart noises in “fart mode,” Teslas really can do it all. They can even be used to produce music. Diplo shared a video today in which he makes a beat from scratch—with his Tesla. Using nothing but his car’s dashboard, he recreated the beat of “New Love,” his new Silk City single with Mark Ronson and Ellie Goulding. What is this sorcery, you ask? It looks like Diplo used a program called TRAX, a digital audio workstation (DAW) offered by Tesla in one of the company’s recent vehicular software updates. The in-car music studio had been available to owners in late 2019, but it has now been enhanced with expanded capabilities. While TRAX is much more limited than industry-standard DAWs like Ableton a...

Martin Garrix and Maejor Tease New AREA21 Album

The pieces are all coming together for the return of AREA21. Back in October 2020, Martin Garrix revealed the impending return of his side project with Maejor, stating that they had recorded enough new material to drop a full album. After purging AREA21’s social media platforms of all content earlier this month—a strategic move used by many producers to indicate new music on the way—fans have now received their next clue.  Originally, it was believed that the new album would drop in March 2021. However, a mysterious new post by AREA21 could signal the release of new music earlier than expected. Though much of what’s to come still remains a mystery, fans can glean information from comments Garrix made in the telling interview from October. The Dutch...

Ultra Music Festival Will Cancel 2021 Event

The organizers of Ultra Music Festival are planning to cancel the event’s 2021 edition, according to a letter obtained by Billboard.   The letter is dated January 21st, 2021 and came from Ultra’s attorney, Sandy York. Addressed to Miami City Manager Arthur Noriega, it reveals that York anticipates the City of Miami will invoke the “Force Majeure” clause in the festival’s Bayfront Park license agreement. The implementation of such a clause typically takes place due to unforeseeable circumstances—such as a pandemic—that prevent someone from fulfilling a contract. York believes the same COVID-19 conditions that precipitated the festival’s 2020 cancellation remain a threat in 2021. While no formal announcement has been made...

Political Journey Of D.O.A.’s JOE KEITHLEY Focus Of Upcoming Documentary

Award-winning documentary filmmaker/director Scott Crawford (“Creem: America’s Only Rock’N’Roll Magazine”) and producer Paul Rachman (“American Hardcore”) have launched a Kickstarter campaign in support of their new project, “Something Better Change”. The film documents hardcore punk band D.O.A. frontman and lead guitarist Joey “Shithead” Keithley‘s unprecedented political rise in his native Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada and his 2022 re-election journey while also exploring how music and activism often interlink via raising awareness about important social issues, inspiring people to get involved, and fostering real, dynamic change. Directed by Crawford, the documentary will also feature former U.S. congressman Bet...

PAUL STANLEY: All ‘News’ Media, Personalities And Elected Officials Should Be Held Accountable For Lies, Inaccuracies And Fabrications

Paul Stanley says that media platforms and elected officials should be held “accountable” for exacerbating and weaponizing disinformation. Earlier today (Friday, January 22), the KISS frontman took to his Twitter to write: “The quickest way to end divisiveness in this country is to hold ALL ‘news’ media, personalities & elected officials accountable for lies, inaccuracies & fabrications. Freedom Of Speech should not cover the betrayal of the trust we rely on to make educated choices based on facts.” Stanley‘s latest comments come a little over a week after he defended his right to speak out on political issues, saying that he voices his opinions as a “proud citizen” of a country he loves deeply. He explained: “My professio...

STEPHEN PEARCY Wants To Make One Final RATT Album With All Surviving Members Of Classic Lineup

During an appearance on yesterday’s (Thursday, Janury 21) episode of SiriusXM‘s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk”, Stephen Pearcy revealed that he is open to the idea of making a new RATT album with all the surviving members of the band’s classic lineup. “I wouldn’t wanna put a RATT record out there without the original guys,” he said. “I mean, it just wouldn’t make sense. We’ve tried it. “Look, I accepted it a long time ago when Robbin [Crosby, late RATT guitarist] left the band, we lost a big element of direction. He was my right-hand man creating this monster. And I knew it — I knew once he was out, we would be going through motions. It’s all cool, and it’s great, but how many replacements can you have in ...
