Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz Dr. Dre’s estranged wife may have recently had a win in court, but it appears she’s not finished telling her side of what happened during their 25-year marriage that led to the couple heading towards divorce. According to The Daily Mail, new court documents state that Nicole Young has accused her estranged husband of holding a gun to her head, punching her in the face, and lifting her off of the ground by her neck. “Andre has verbally and emotionally decimated my personhood to the extent that I currently suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome,” she said in the court documents. Five months after filing for divorce, Nicole is siding with a list of women have previously accused the Hip-Hop legend of domestic abuse, including veteran journalist Dee B...

‘The Boondocks’ Premiere On HBO Max Pushed Back, Again

Source: WarnerMedia / HBO Max HBO Max is poised for a helluva 2021 as they’re slated to release a gang of films that were meant to premier in movie theaters around the world, but unfortunately the highly anticipated return of The Boondocks might have to wait a bit longer to join that party. ComicBook.com is reporting that the return of the beloved Aaron McGruder comic strip turned cartoon series has once again been pushed back after already being delayed due to the pandemic of 2020, when it was supposed to premier. The confirmation that the project is still on track for a 2021 release comes from a column at TVLine, where a viewer asked what had ever happened to the 2020 release date. The release date remains non-specific (“later in 2021” could be any one of 11 months, after all) and t...

Funkmaster Flex Claims Jay-Z Isn’t On IG Because He’s Sensitive [Video]

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Funkmaster Flex is talking spicy regardless of how anyone feels. His latest rants puts Jay-Z back on the plate for internet trolls to feed on. As spotted on HipHopDX the DJ made an appearance on the Million Dollars Worth Of Game podcast. While he was unable to join Gillie The Kid and Wallo in person that did not stop the Bronx native from talking spicy. During the conversation the trio discussed some of New York City’s greatest Rap talents. Naturally Jay-Z’s name came up and poured all types of salt on his name when it comes to his lack of presence on Instagram. “You know why he can’t be on social media?” he asked rhetorically. “Because he’s the most sensitive muthaf***er on the planet and he can’t take n***as in his comments telling him the...

National Treasure

If you care at all about democracy and the way our world works, you should be watching Real Time with Bill Maher. As January 2021 marks the show’s 19th season, it’s one of the most in-demand shows on air. With good reason.  What the world needs now—right now—is someone brave enough to fight for the truth. Someone who will put himself out there, be willing to be despised as much as he’s revered, and say the things that make us ponder and squirm. From religion to healthcare, mass media to political correctness, Maher enlists experts to help start the all-essential conversations. He leaves it up to you, the thinker, to do the rest. Nineteen seasons, FYI, doesn’t happen to any TV show by accident. Before Real Time there was his round-table, idea mosh pit Politically Incorrect (1993 – 2001...

First Stream: New Music From Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Zayn and More

“34+35” was already one of the explicit standouts from Ariana Grande’s Positions album, allowing the pop superstar to express her sexual freedom while hitting the top 10 of the Hot 100. With this new remix, Grande has called upon two masters of the double entendre: Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion both cruise over the beat and offer some righteous witticisms in their verses, while also each referencing the desire to keep their neighbors up. Selena Gomez, “De Una Vez” Last year, Selena Gomez reflected on her success with her Rare album in a Billboard interview, while also stating that she planned to “challenge” herself on her next project. “De Una Vez,” Gomez’s first Spanish-language song in nearly a decade, certainly delivers upon that ambition: whether or not the song previews a larger pr...

“Africa has birthed a lot of special talents that have been creating amazing music for a long time and we’re happy to finally have the platforms and the means to share our music across the continent and to the rest of the world,” Tems tells Billboard. “[The Africa Rising program] allowed my music to reach new listeners and [has] also given my supporters and myself something to be excited about in these tough times.” ALL EYES ON AFRICA Over the past several years, labels, distributors and industry trade groups have turned their focus towards the African music market, and Apple Music is not the only streaming service making inroads on the continent, or supporting its local artists. Jazmine Sullivan On Self-Confidence Struggles and Empowering Women In R&B

You followed an earlier three-year recording break with a five-year interlude. Are these breaks intentional or happenstance? As far as length of time, it’s not really intentional. I’ll just chill for a second and then a little break turns into a longer break. But as long as it turns out to be, I do feel breaks are necessary. Taking breaks when you’re younger, it feels different than when you’re older. For one thing, getting yourself back into the swing of things is different, both physically and vocally. I’m starting to understand that now. It’s a different kind of building back up as you get older … even things like getting up earlier and doing interviews. How has the pandemic inspired and challenged your singing and songwriting? I’m amazed people are telling me I sound stronger and...

“I have to say you’re kind of like my good luck charm,” Astin told Clarkson when she praised his cover, noting that he also did “Since U Been Gone” in the first PP movie and on the soundtrack. But, he added, “I don’t know if you know this, but your songs are hard!” Clarkson agreed, joking that she usually figures that out when she goes on tour and realizes she has to sing “all 17 of these songs every single night! Like over and over. That’s when I lower the [register of the] songs.” Astin said his moment with Zoey was especially special because it’s the first time that Levy’s character has sung a duet with someone on the show. In the same episode, Clarkson chatted with 9-1-1 star Jennifer Love Hewitt about the ti...
