Joe Biden’s inauguration — which, despite everything, is happening — will be celebrated with some virtual music on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 8pm ET. The lineup includes Carole King, will.i.am, James Taylor, Fall Out Boy, Michael Bivins, Ben Harper and AJR with Keegan-Michael Key and Debra Messing as hosts. The invitations — which circulated today — say there will also be appearances from Connie Britton, Kal Penn, Sophia Bush and Jamie Camil. On Twitter, the producers of the long-in-the-works Lord of the Rings TV series have finally shared a synopsis, but it’s full of obscure hints about “great powers… forged,” and “the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen.” Inscrutable, yes? Nobody can figure out such complex hints — though we must admit, the words seem to have a familiar ring. Tom Holland is robbing banks while stealing a young woman’s heart in the first trailer for Cherry. This new film from the Russo brothers pops on Apple TV+ on Mach 12th. Cherry is based on the 2018 semi-autobiographical novel of the same name. As Variety reports, the “WAP” rapper has landed a starring role in the upcoming Paramount comedy Assisted Living. On the same day that Ariel Pink and John Maus appeared in Washington, D.C. at a pro-Trump rally that left five people dead, Pink had civil harassment restraining orders he filed in Los Angeles against his ex-girlfriend and bandmate, Charlotte Ercoli Coe, dismissed. As reported by Pitchfork, the case was “stricken and dismissed” by Los Angeles County Superior Court Commissioner Laura Cohen. Pink filed the papers last August, saying that Coe was “falsely claiming” that he was a sexual predator who “committed sexual offenses almost three years ago.” Pink’s complaint also accused Coe of threatening to blackmail him or report him to the police.
