Source: The Washington Post / Getty The fallout from last week’s treasonous insurrection spurred on by Donald Trump continues as authorities are now looking at actual police officers who might’ve participated and assisted in the failed vanilla isis coup de tat. TMZ is reporting that the FBI are zeroing in on 10-12 members of the Capitol Police for allegedly helping the Trumpian mob carry out their terrorist attack in Washington. While everyone witnessed the Capitol 12 basically roll out the welcome mat to the rioters outside of the Capitol Building and open the gates up to them, the FBI fear they were a part of something “more nefarious.” As for what’s “more nefarious,” as TMZ reported, the FBI believes some of the officers and other staffers in the building may have facilitated the takeov...

Three Dem Congress Members Test Positive For COVID-19 After Sheltering With Nasty Republicans Who Refused To Mask-Up

Source: Earl Gibson III / Getty The fallout for Donald Trump’s cracker insurrection continues and now could have led to a super-spreader event among Congress members. As Pro-Trump white terrorists stormed the U.S. Capitol Building, Congress members were forced to take shelter in rooms together to hide from the rioters who were searching for them. After the dust settled and those who participated in the bootleg coup are getting rounded up by the feds and are being put on no-fly lists, some Democrats complained they were sheltering in a room with Republicans who refused to wear a mask to protect each other from COVID-19. “Democratic Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester of Delaware approached a group of maskless Republicans — Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Markwayne Mullin, Andy Biggs, Scott Perry ...

Shakira Sells Full Song Catalog to Hipgnosis

“Being a songwriter is an accomplishment that I consider equal to and perhaps even greater than being a singer and an artist,” said Shakira in a statement. “At 8 years old — long before I sang — I wrote to make sense of the world. Each song is a reflection of the person I was at the time that I wrote it, but once a song is out in the world, it belongs not only to me but to those who appreciate it as well.” The amount paid for Shakira’s catalog was not disclosed, but the high-profile sale highlights the potential in international catalogs in general and Latin catalogs in particular. Although there have been few major sales of high-profile Latin catalogs, in November Hipgnosis announced that its acquisition of 42 catalogs from Kobalt included hits by Enrique Iglesias, among them ...

The Wiggles Sign Exclusive, Global Deal With Universal Music Publishing Group

To celebrate their third decade of lighting up kids’ faces, The Wiggles kick off a year-long national tour of Australia this April, featuring current members Emma Watkins (The Yellow Wiggle), Lachlan Gillespie (Purple) and Simon Pryce (Red) and co-creator Anthony Field (Blue). “This is going to be such a monumental year for The Wiggles,” Field comments in a statement issued Wednesday, “and we couldn’t be happier to be celebrating it with Universal Music Publishing.” The founding members formed The Wiggles, having met while studying Early Childhood Education at Sydney’s Macquarie University. Field, he later recounted, had the thought of recording an album of children’s music, the idea being that it might help him land a job as a teacher. It turned out to be a bright idea. With a...

Andra Day Refuses to Be Silenced in First Trailer for The United States vs. Billie Holiday: Watch

Andra Day in The United States vs. Billie Holiday trailer Billie Holiday’s fame in the ’30s and ’40s threatened the very fabric of racist white America. But it was her popular recording of “Strange Fruit”, a song protesting the lynching of Black people, that officially made Holiday an enemy of the country. In an effort to discredit and silence her, the Federal Department of Narcotics targeted Holiday relentlessly, knowing she’d had a history of drug abuse. That’s the haunting premise of The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a new Hulu biopic from director Lee Daniels (Precious) written by Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks. The legendary jazz singer is played by real-life Grammy nominee Andra Day, who embodies Holiday’s brazen outspokenness and magnetism in equal measure, as seen in to...

Bassist Marko Hietala Quits Nightwish, Condemns Music Industry on the Way Out

Former Nightwish bassist Marko Hietala, second from right, courtesy of Nuclear Blast Longtime Nightwish bassist Marko Hietala has quit the symphonic metal band after joining the Finnish group in 2001. Hietala issued a highly personal statement regarding his departure, condemning the music industry in the process. Among his grievances, Hietala cited “streaming company big guns demanding 9-to-5 work from artists of inspiration while unfairly sharing the profits.” Nightwish have long been a leading artist in the world of symphonic metal, and their 2004 opus, Once, remains one of Nuclear Blast Records’ most successful releases after topping the charts in multiple countries. The bassist didn’t expressly call out his record label, specific promoters, or any of his bandmates, but said that a pers...

Toledo Share New Song “Dog Has Its Day”: Stream

Although they share a name with the Ohio city, Toledo are a band from Brooklyn. The duo of Daniel Alvarez and Jordan Dunn-Pilz are in the midst of rolling out an EP called Jockeys of Love, and today they’re giving fans a preview with a song called “Dog Has Its Day”. The track follows October’s “Challenger” and December’s “It’s Alive!”, which serve as a solid representation of the sounds that Toledo’s music straddles: brisk, slightly surfy dream-pop and crisp, tranquil indie-folk. “Dog Has Its Day” retains the prettiness of the former, but musically it leans closer to the latter sensibility. Over a mellow yet steady groove, Alvarez and Dunn-Pilz stack a whispery falsetto over a mesmerizing acoustic guitar lick and let that ride for a while. Eventually, some beautifully congealed harmonies e...

IAN SWEET Announces New Album Show Me How You Disappear, Shares “Drink the Lake”: Stream

IAN SWEET, the CoSigned indie project headed up by Jilian Medford, has announced a new album. Show Me How You Disappear arrives in March and is being teased today with a single called “Drink the Lake”. The upcoming effort is IAN SWEET’s third overall and follow-up to 2018’s Crush Crusher, which Medford broke down for us track by track. According to a statement, a bulk of the songs on Show Me How came to fruition after Medford completed a two-month intensive outpatient program in early 2020. The rigorous treatment involved six-hour days of therapy and saw Medford looking inward more than ever before — so much so that she even took a break from music in order to focus on her self-care. Show Me How is a direct result of those reflections and the emotional catharsis that came with them. “...

Songs Of Unspeakable Terror – BLOODY HAMMERS

RATING: 8/10 North Carolina’s BLOODY HAMMERS have spent most of the last decade as one of rock music’s most underappreciated acts. The husband-and-wife duo of Anders Manga (vocals/bass/guitars) and Devallia (organ/piano/keyboards) have reliably become jacks-of-all-trades throughout their existence, mastering everything they’ve tried so far, from the hypnotic stoner-rock grooves that propelled 2014’s “Under Satan’s Sun” to the ’80s-influenced goth-rock that made 2016’s “Lovely Sort of Death” a fun ride. No matter what direction they turn their musical proclivities towards, their discography’s main point of consistency is an aura of haunting atmosphere that is bolstered by Manga‘s melodic croons and lyrics that app...

BLACK VEIL BRIDES’ ANDY BIERSACK: EDDIE VAN HALEN ‘Singularly Created The Idea Of A Guitar Hero’

In a recent interview with Anne Erickson of Audio Ink Radio, BLACK VEIL BRIDES singer Andy Biersack was asked for his thoughts on the passing of Eddie Van Halen. He responded (hear audio below): “You know, it’s one of those things where it’s actually kind of funny — I wasn’t a VAN HALEN fan as a kid, and not for lack of trying. My dad, who introduced me to KISS and all the other bands that I ended up listening to, was always trying to get me to like VAN HALEN. But there was just something about [David Lee Roth] that just didn’t connect with me. And as an adult, I kind of found it later and grew to really love and appreciate what they are as a band and how important they were. “Obviously, there’s a lot of things that play into KISS where Eddie playe...
