Paul Stanley has defended his right to speak out on political issues, saying that he voices his opinions as a “proud citizen” of a country he loves deeply. Earlier today, the KISS frontman took to his Twitter to write: “If You Are A Fan Who Now Feels My Opinions Are Alienating You, that is sadly your choice & not my intention. Do the entertainers you enjoy have to share your beliefs? Would you like it more if you didn’t know? In many cases you’d be fooling yourself. I won’t do that to you or me.” Two days earlier, he wrote: “To All Those Who Don’t Share My Views… You are not my enemy. A democracy needs those differences to make it better & ultimately stronger. Friendship doesn’t need agreement. OUR enemy should be an...
HBO Max has officially announced And Just Like That…, a Sex and the City sequel series starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis. The 10-episode, half-hour series will follow Carrie (Parker), Miranda (Nixon), and Charlotte (Davis) as they “navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s,” according to a press release. Sex and the City co-star Kim Cattrall, who’s been feuding with Parker for the last several years, will not be returning for the sequel series. Based on Candace Bushnell’s book of the same name, Sex and the City ran for six seasons between 1998 and 2004. Two feature-length films followed in 2008 and 2010. There were plans for a third movie in 201...
Madlib and Four Tet have shared details of their new collaborative album Sound Ancestors. It arrives Friday, January 29th via Madlib Invazion. The tracklist and artwork are out now. Sound Ancestors is credited to Madlib, with Four Tet handling the editing, arranging, and mastering of the 16-song effort. In a social media statement, Four Tet explained the unusual work arrangement, writing, “He is always making loads of music in all sorts of styles and I was listening to some of his new beats and studio sessions when I had the idea that it would be great to hear some of these ideas made into a Madlib album. Not made into beats for vocalists to use but instead arranged into tracks that could all flow together in an album designed to be listened to start to finish. I put this co...
2011: the year of Beyoncé‘s first baby announcement, “honey badger don’t care,” the launch of Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead and, of course, the release of David Guetta and Kid Cudi s “Memories.” While these iconic events have come and gone, “Memories” is back to see another day via a new remix from Guetta himself. Released January 8th via Warner Music, this 2021 reimagination reinvigorates the decade-old original with classic dance energy, updating its driving piano melody with a pulsing four-on-the-floor beat and buoyant club drop. Living in infamy in its premiere form, the track’s new remix perfectly matches its party atmosphere as Cudi’s husky tone paints a timely picture of the n...

And then Swift herself commented on Rodrigo’s post: “I say that’s my baby and I’m really proud.” (The choice of words is an oft-used phrase on memes made by Swifties quoting Swift’s own mom, Andrea, from an old interview clip.) “what is breathing,” Rodrigo added in another post, an adorable reaction to Swift’s comment. Swift’s words of encouragement show that she’s had Rodrigo on her radar for at least a few weeks. Her comment seems to be a wink to another post from the “Drivers License” singer’s account: on Swift’s Dec. 13 birthday, Rodrigo celebrated with a photo of the pop star holding many Grammys and the note “happy birthday mom.” See Rodrigo’s reaction to Swift’s praise o...

In a recent interview with The Razor’s Edge, ex-FEAR FACTORY singer Burton C. Bell was asked if he would be open to working with any of his former bandmates again, including Christian Olde Wolbers, drummer Gene Hoglan, Byron Stroud and Raymond Herrera. He responded: “No, no, no. It’s like going back to an ex-girlfriend. The thought of it for a second might be good, but once you get there, you regret it. People move on for a reason, and when I move on, I move on. “I have a lot of great achievements, I have a lot of great times and great moments, but for me, if I wanna continue working, I wanna move forward,” he continued. “And there’s just things that you cannot change. And instead of changing it, I’m gonna move forward.” This past Septe...
Vocalist Simone Simons of Dutch symphonic metallers EPICA spoke to the “Scars And Guitars” podcast about what the concert industry might look like post-pandemic. She said: “You have to be realistic. Of course, we’re all eager to go back on stage, but we all know by now that the art industry, the music business, entertainment business, is the last to start working again. And a lot of musicians are going crazy, especially the ones that live for touring.” She continued: “You have two kind of musicians: one that love to be in the studio — like my husband [KAMELOT keyboard player Oliver Palotai]; he loves it — but I also love to travel and be on stage. If I’m in the studio for too long, it’s too much of the same for me. So I am itching to go back ...
Sebastian Bach has once again taken a swipe at Chris Jericho, suggesting that the FOZZY singer and wrestling superstar bears some responsibility for the violent siege of the U.S. Capitol last week. After writer and comedian Tony Posnanski tweeted that all supporters of President Donald Trump, including those who voted for Trump, donated to Trump, and wore any “MAGA” merchandise “are to blame for what happened at the Capitol,” Bach chimed in: This includes wrestlers”. Last Wednesday, Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol, vandalized the building and assaulted police officers. One woman was fatally shot by police and three people died of apparent medical emergencies. A Capitol police officer died after responding to the mob. Many top political figures have a...
When Eddie Van Halen passed away in Oct., it hit the rock community hard — including his former bandmates. During a recent visit to the Talkin’ Rock With Meltdown podcast, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony divulged that he and EVH had unresolved issues when he died. “We actually hadn’t spoken [for many years], and unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to,” he revealed. “And, you know, it kind of bothers me, because we had some issues that were never resolved. But, I mean, what can you do? We were on track [for] a reunion, which I’m really sad that it never happened. But, you know, life and the show goes on.” Van Halen’s manager Irving Azoff also mentioned that the classic lineup almost reunited in 2019 for a stadium tour; however, it didn’t happen because of Eddie’s health...
