The Weeknd “Save Your Tears,” Last Days & Benny The Butcher “Tradition” & More | Daily Visuals 1.5.21

Source: NBC / Getty For the past year The Weeknd’s been on walking around with a bloodied up and bandaged face to demonstrate, well, we’re not entirely sure. But today the wraps have come off and we kinda wish they actually didn’t. For his newest visuals to “Save Your Tears,” The Weeknd unveils a brand new look in which he boasts a swollen up grill that looks like he just underwent the Kylie Jenner special or something. We guess this will be his 2021 gimmick going forward. Elsewhere Benny The Butcher continues to become the most guest featured rapper out of Griselda as he links up with Last Days to keep it thorough from the block to the club in the visuals to “Tradition.” Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from J Stone featuring Dave East, Stunna 4 Vegas, and more. Flying Lotus Reveals He and MF DOOM Had Collaborative EP in the Works

Flying Lotus has revealed that he and the late MF DOOM were in the process of writing a new EP. Since the iconic rapper’s tragic death at the end of 2020, Flying Lotus has been vocal in celebrating his legacy. The two artists were frequent collaborators over the years, and together they minted a handful of fan-favorite tracks, including “Between Friends & Enemies” and “Lunch Break.” Understandably, Flying Lotus wasn’t intending to go out of his way to reveal there was something bigger in the works. But when he was engaged by one fan on Twitter who wished for a long-form collaborative project from the two artists, he let the secret slip. “I hate to say this but we were actually working on an EP,” FlyLo wrote. “The...

Glastonbury Festival Organizer Emily Eavis Denies Reports of 2021 Cancellation

Following reports of the imminent cancellation of Glastonbury Festival‘s 2021 edition, one of the festival’s organizers has denied such news. The rumor mill began to swirl after Mel B of the Spice Girls appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live and said she was informed that Glastonbury Festival was called off. Her comments were a double whammy of sorts, fueling speculation not only of the fest’s cancellation, but also a landmark performance by the Spice Girls during their 25th anniversary celebrations.  “I know that Glastonbury’s been cancelled, so a lot of big stage performances are on hold again this year, which is sad but we’ve got to get this virus under control,” Mel B said. When a Twitter user tweeted at Emily Eavis—a co-organizer of the festival...

Melvins Unveil New Song “Caddy Daddy’: Stream

The Melvins have shared the riff-filled “Caddy Daddy” from their upcoming album Working with God, out February 26th. The album sees the re-formation of the band’s 1983 lineup featuring Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover, and original drummer Mike Dillard. Given the young ages of the band members when they formed the Melvins, some teenage sense of humor in the new track is inevitable. These aren’t archival recordings, but new music from the 1983 lineup, in the vein of their previous full-length album, 2013’s Tres Cabrones. Like lead single “I F**k Around”, which crudely debauches The Beach Boys’ “I Get Around”, the new single, “Caddy Daddy”, boasts a similar irreverence both lyrically and musically. If it’s any indication of what to expect from the rest of Working with God, fans can look forward to ...

The Weeknd Shows Off Horrifying Plastic Surgery in New Video for “Save Your Tears”: Watch

The saga of self-violence continues. After promoting “Blinding Lights” with a theatrically bloody face and literally losing his head in the video for “Too Late”, The Weeknd has unveiled new visuals for “Save Your Tears” that showcases the after-effects of some horrifying plastic surgery. The singer performs the After Hours track with lips as big as a fist and a jawline grotesquely stretched until his chin is even wider than his forehead. He also wears a turtleneck, perhaps to hide the decapitation scars earned in “Too Late”. His appearance is wild, but the rest of the video is just as deranged. He performs at a glamorous, masked ceremony that might be a parody of the Grammys, since they recently shut him out of all categories. Most of the patrons wear masks, but one young lady makes a...

Alice Glass Teases Debut Album with New Song “SUFFER AND SWALLOW”: Stream

Since her tumultuous departure from Crystal Castles back in 2014, Alice Glass has steadily worked to carve out a solo career for herself. She put out her first-ever EP two years later, followed by a handful of singles, a collaboration with Adult Swim, and even a spot on The Turning soundtrack alongside folks like Courtney Love and Mitski. Today, Glass begins a new chapter in her post-Crystal Castles era with the announcement of her debut solo album. According to a statement, the as-yet-untitled full-length is expected to arrive later this year. In lieu of other specifics, Glass has let loose lead single “SUFFER AND SWALLOW”. The track is said to examine “the dichotomy of pain and beauty,” and it does so by alternating between harsh, blistering beats and fluid, almost angelic, vocals. Think...

Eminem Pins Offensive Rihanna Lyric Jab On Learning How To Rap Again After Overdose

Source: Sheri Determan/WENN.com / WENN Eminem has always lived on the edge when it came to his lyrics, with his unsuspecting targets often blindsided by the barbs. After apologizing for one such offensive jab at Rihanna that he’s since apologized for, Slim Shady says that the R&B singer’s name drop was due to him learning how to rhyme words again. In a talk with SiriusXM’s Gray Rizzy, Eminem explained that the lyrics aimed at the Barbadian superstar were recorded during the early sessions for the Relapse album and that he isn’t sure how the verse got out to the public. “It was pretty recently that that verse had leaked and, honest to God, I told Paul [Rosenberg] when it first happened I was like first I didn’t know how somebody got it,” Eminem began. “I have no, zero recollection of ev...

#BUFFALOKIDS: Westside Gunn Won’t Be Retiring, More Music On The Way

Source: Jacopo Raule / Getty Westside Gunn has one of the most impressive discographies in Hip-Hop, viewing himself as the genre’s top curator, and that cannot be argued due to Griselda’s success. With news of the Buffalo rapper and designer angling for retirement, WSG has since walked back that statement and will continue to release more audio art. On Sunday (Jan. 3), WSG took to Twitter and shared the news as only he can. “Y’all don’t know this GUNN tho, just know GOD IS THE GREATEST and I’m just getting started… btw I’m not retiring either not just yet it’s more work to do,” Westside Gunn wrote, complete with all the corresponding captions.
