Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz Swae Lee and Miley Cyrus’ favorite collaborator Mike Will Made-It is definitely walking into 2021, counting their blessings with a new perspective on life. On Friday (January 1), the Rae Sremmurd member and super-producer almost saw their 2021 ending tragically as soon as it started. The pair was involved in a horrific car crash that saw the $340,000 Ferrari 812 Superfast they were riding in totaled beyond recognition. Mike Will Made-It shared photos of himself posing with the wrecked exotic super-car that both he and Lee miraculously walked away from on his Instagram page with the caption: “ME & SWAE WILLY MADE-IT OUT THIS MF ALIVE 🙏🏾🤞🏾w JUST A COUPLE BRUISES, THANK U GOD , I’M PAYING ATTENTION TO ALL THE SIGNS, 2...
Source: Prince Williams / Getty In a VERZUZ battle that nobody asked for, Benzino reportedly called out both Joyner Lucas and Royce da 5’9 for reasons we’re not even able to discern on our best days. As it stands, the Boston veteran didn’t get the exact response he wanted and now it’s gotten ugly to the point of threats and low-blow insults. The war of words came to our attention late but from what we’ve been able to follow via social media, Benzino caught a shot from Nickel Nine via Instagram which featured a screencap of a tweet of the initial call out. From Royce’s IG: Y’all owe me for these laughs. I want my flowers for these hysterical outbursts during these trying times… 🌹🌹This muf*ka dun challenged me to a Verzuz battle… 🤦🏿♂️ He ...
All the way back in May 2018, Playboi Carti dropped his beloved, star-studded debut album, Die Lit, which eventually hit No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Nearly three years without an album can be a long time in the streaming economy — especially with peers like Taylor Swift releasing two in the span of five months — and as Carti kept busy popping up on features with Solange, Tyler, the Creator, and Drake (and dealing with persistent leaks), his second LP became extremely anticipated. That likely explains the groundswell that’s caused Whole Lotta Red to hit No. 1 this week, knocking Swift’s Evermore from the top spot, as Billboard reports. It’s Carti’s first No. 1 and features guest appearances from Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and Future. The rattling and booming ...

Back in November, PEEKABOO quietly unveiled his new side project, Elixir. Eschewing most of the heavy sound design attributed to his previous releases, the lighter sonics have been a refreshing change of pace for fans looking for something a little more low-key. Both a fan and artist favorite, PEEKABOO quickly became one of the bass world’s most treasured producers and Elixir is the perfect outlet for flexing his production capabilities. Hitting the new year running, he recently shared a dreamy new track from Elixir called “Autumn Sunset.” It’s immediately noticeable that his new sound is quite different from many of the hard-hitting, space bass tunes that make up his main project’s library. What they do have in common, however, is the ability to take listener...

SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor has told Kerrang! magazine that he hopes to give up sugar in 2021. “That’s my resolution — to try and get back to zero,” he said when asked about his New Year’s Resolution. “I’ll tell you what: it’s been the one thing that’s been the hardest for me to really let go of. I’ve quit smoking, I’ve quit drinking, I’ve quit drugs; I’ve quit all that stuff. But this is the one that’s kind of hanging around.” Elaborating on why it’s been so difficult for him to give up all things sweet, Corey said: “Maybe it’s because I’m surrounded by it because I have kids — it makes it a little tougher. Plus my sweet tooth is also just so ridiculous: I once fil...

Although his career was short-lived, Lil Peep made a lasting impression on a whole generation of young hip-hop fans. His brand of emo rap also apparently profoundly impacted… 53-year-old Billy Corgan. Since Lil Peep’s death in 2017, the Smashing Pumpkins frontman has compared him to some of the most iconic rock stars in music history. In 2018, Corgan likened the rapper’s music to that of early Metallica. Now, in a recent interview with Upset magazine, the Pumpkins leader has dubbed Lil Peep the Kurt Cobain of his generation. The incredible revelation came during a discussion about CYR, the Smashing Pumpkins’ newly released double album, and how they’ve managed to stay relevant more three decades into their career: “This album is the result of us trying to come into the modern world,” ...
