Luke Bentham was taking painting lessons in a community center when inspiration struck for the new Dirty Nil LP, Fuck Art. “There’s this old man sitting at the back of the class, and he’s such a whiny asshole,” the singer-guitarist tells SPIN. “He keeps putting his hand up, and he’s like, ‘Um, my bushes don’t look like your bushes.’ And the teacher’s like, ‘OK, well, don’t worry, Mr. Gallagher. Take your time; you’re just learning.’” After several rounds of bellyaching, an exasperated Mr. Gallagher threw his paintbrush on the table and muttered, “Fuck art.” The story had Bentham’s bandmates — drummer Kyle Fisher and bassist Ross Miller — in stitches. But once the laughter subsided, they knew they’d found the title of their third studio album, which follows 2016’s Higher Power and 201...
Dawn Wells, the actress best known for her role as Mary Ann Summers on Gilligan’s Island, has died at the age of 82. She succumbed to complications related to COVID-19 on Tuesday, December 30th, her publicist announced. Born in 1938 in Reno, Nevada, Wells spent her early childhood defying typical beauty standards. Although she was overweight, suffered from severe acne, and had braces throughout middle school, Wells was embraced by her peers and often viewed as popular, notes The Hollywood Reporter. Turns out that charm followed her into adulthood. Wells was crowned Miss Nevada in 1959 and even competed in the 1960 Miss America beauty pageant — the same year she graduated from the University of Washington. Initially, Wells’ early acting career was defined by smaller roles on TV shows like W...

Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty J. Cole could hang up his microphone right today and would deserve every accolade thrown his way, but it appears more music is coming sooner than later. The North Carolina MC and producer shared a somewhat cryptic Instagram post that seemingly hints at retirement. Born Jermaine Cole, the 35-year-old Dreamville honcho turns 36 next month and has been spending more time behind the scenes than in front of the camera. Cole has already suggested that retirement was on the horizon but he has continued to dangle the carrot ever so artfully as evidenced by his latest Instagram post. In an image of notepad atop recording studio equipment, Cole has marked off a number of goals for what he titled as, “The Fall Off Era.” Marked off on the list are “features” and “ROTD3,” th...
