“Get Your Rebel On”: App Promoting Secret Pandemic Parties Removed from App Store, TikTok
Vybe Together, an app promoting clandestine parties during the COVID-19 pandemic, has been removed from Apple’s App Store. After marketing primarily to young professionals on TikTok, the social media giant also banned the app. Using the slogan “Get your rebel on. Get your party on,” the platform invited users to organize and RSVP to illicit, unsafe parties that defy current COVID-19 restrictions instated by the US government. Since its removal from the App Store, Vybe Together has scrubbed most of its digital presence. Its website is no longer active, but an archival version offers a glimpse into how the app operates. Dynamic dance music sister duo NERVO has announced they are heading back out on tour. The fun begins today, December 30th, at Elements Festival in Bangkok, where the sisters will be performing alongside Bassjackers, Danny Avila, DubVision, and more. FOO FIGHTERS Tease ‘No Son Of Mine’ Single
FOO FIGHTERS will release a new single, “No Son Of Mine”, on New Year’s Eve. The track, which can be previewed below, will appear on the band’s upcoming 10th studio album, “Medicine At Midnight”, due on February 5, 2021 via Roswell Records/RCA Records. “Medicine At Midnight” is a nine-song, 37-minute effort which was produced by the FOO FIGHTERS and Greg Kurstin. The first single from the disc, “Shame Shame”, was released last month. Legendary Danish Studio Used By JUDAS PRIEST, GARY MOORE And MESHUGGAH Destroyed In Fire
The legendary Danish studio where JUDAS PRIEST recorded parts of its “Ram It Down” album has been destroyed in a fire (see photos from Pressefotos.dk below). According to Foreigner.fi, the Puk Recording Studios complex, located in Gjerlev, north of the city of Randers, in western Denmark, burned down early Monday (December 28). It was not known what caused the fire, and there were no reports of any people being injured. Puk was established in a converted farmhouse in 1978 by John “Puk” Quist, and at one point was considered one of the most technologically advanced studios in the world. Now, the franchise’s longtime director Richard Donner has confirmed that he’s both directing and producing the film at the young age of 91 years old.
