KISS frontman Paul Stanley recently spoke to SPIN about how he has been dealing with the coronavirus crisis and what he expects life to be like post-pandemic. “Initially, I was in shock,” Stanley admitted. “I think it just was so surreal that it kind of stopped everybody in their tracks and we had to get reoriented. Initially, I did very little. I pretty much stayed in the house. Nobody knew the parameters of what we could do. I’m sure we all remember wiping down shopping bags and groceries. Time has a way of getting away from you during this pandemic. “People, I think, are seeing this light at the end of the tunnel of vaccines, but sadly, a vaccine doesn’t do any good unless you’re vaccinated, and most of us haven’t been,” he continued...
Puck Hcky, the hockey-based fashion brand, has announced a new relationship with heavy metal legends METALLICA to deliver a new collection of items. The METALLICA x Puck Hcky collection includes hoodies, flannels, jerseys and hats, all inspired by the band’s music and art. In addition to the merch METALLICA will be carrying in the Met Store, Puck Hcky will also be selling a few pieces exclusive to its store. The collection has just dropped and is available at www.puckhcky.com. In the past, METALLICA has performed before San Jose Sharks hockey games, and the Sharks have been using the band’s 1983 song “Seek & Destroy” as their entrance music for a long time. “Who would have thought back in 1982 when we wrote that song that that song would have that kind of ...
GODSMACK drummer Shannon Larkin says that he and his bandmates had “fun” on tour with MÖTLEY CRÜE, despite the fact that the two groups have engaged in a decade-long public feud. The tension between GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna and MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx began when they clashed during the 2009 “Crüe Fest 2” tour, on which GODSMACK was a support act and CRÜE was the headliner. GODSMACK later wrote the song “Cryin’ Like A Bitch” about Nikki, fueling what has now become an 11-year war of words. Larkin addressed the long-running dispute during a recent appearance on “That Jamieson Show”. He said (see video below): “That MÖTLEY tour was great. There was some conflict of ego, maybe, that started before the tour even started betw...
Ted Nugent says that he will refuse to be vaccinated against the new coronavirus. The outspoken conservative rocker, who has previously railed against pharmaceutical companies and their development of the vaccine, made his feelings known during a December 25 live video on his official Facebook page. Describing 2020 as a “royal clusterfuck of a year,” Nugent stated about the prospect of vaccine requirements, as well as mask mandates: “We don’t earmark a safety net during a scamming pandemic. It’s not a real pandemic, and that’s not a real vaccine. I’m sorry. I ain’t taking no vaccine. You come at me with a needle, and I will be in fear of my life, and you know what I’ll do if you come at me with a needle. ‘Hi, I’m from the go...
The members of KISS traded their signature face makeup for protective face masks while traveling to their New Year’s Eve show in Dubai. As singer-bassist Gene Simmons put it, “Do the rest of us a favor — mask up!” Simmons shared a photo of himself, singer-guitarist Paul Stanley, drummer Eric Singer, and guitarist Tommy Thayer, as they all sported face masks at an airport. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band will be performing the worldwide “KISS 2020 Goodbye” livestream concert from the Atlantis in Dubai, promising “the biggest & baddest concert event and pyrotechnics show of the year.” Along with the photo, Simmons wrote, “Wear your masks. Even if it’s only as a courtesy. If you yawn, or sneeze, you don’t think twice about covering your mouth. Do the rest of us a favor! Mask Up! … B...
Back in February, Grimes dropped Miss Anthropocene, one of our favorite albums of 2020. Now, nearly one whole year later, she has announced a corresponding remix album. Tailor-made for the clubs, Miss Anthropocene Rave Edition is due out January 1st, as Pitchfork reports. The 11-track effort includes reworks from pop producer and longtime associate BloodPop (Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber) and hip-hop artist Channel Tres. However, the bulk of the project comes courtesy of veteran dance music producers such as Modeselektor and techno/tech-house heavyweights Richie Hawtin, Tale of Us, and ANNA. The original Miss Anthropocene incorporated elements of “techno-pop” and pounding industrial music, so a remix record of this nature shouldn’t come as a big surprise. Two of the remixes — Blo...
Five years ago, movie audiences were mesmerized by the DIY action film Kung Fury, which became an instant cult classic. David Hasselhoff, who sang the movie’s memorable song “True Survivor” and voiced the Hoff 9000 car in the original, tells us he’s back for the sequel and is “going to be funny in it.” Kung Fury was made by Swedish director, writer, and star David Sandberg on a shoestring budget. After self-producing a $5,000 trailer for the yet-to-be-filmed kung fu movie, he launched a Kickstarter campaign with a goal of reaching $200,000. By the time the campaign ended, Sandberg raised more than $600,000, and locked in Hasselhoff for the theme song and Hoff 9000 role. The outlandish homage to ’80s B-movies features Kung Fury (played by Sandberg) partnering with Triceracop, meeting the No...
Growing Pains siblings Carol Seaver (Tracey Gold), Mike Seaver (Kirk Cameron), and Ben Seaver (Jeremy Miller) Former Growing Pains star and current in-your-face evangelist Kirk Cameron spent this holiday season proudly flaunting his anti-mask beliefs by staging huge maskless Christmas caroling events throughout California. Now, his former Growing Pains siblings Jeremy Miller and Tracey Gold are speaking up to condemn his egregious actions. On multiple days in December, Cameron convinced hundreds of people to gather together to sing Christmas carols without any coronavirus safety measures in place, namely social distancing and mask wearing. That’s a lot of spit and germs flying through the air for the sake of belting “Frosty the Snowman”, and it’s especially irresponsible considering L...
“Those are days long gone, you know, my body don’t move like it used to,” he continued. “So I’m like, ‘Well, I can’t dance like that.’ And he’s like, ‘Nah, you’re gonna have a helmet on. And it’s more of just a guessing game.’ Now, my daughter watches The Masked Singer because she likes the costumes, but when the heads come off, she doesn’t know any of the people. She’s only five years old. So I said to myself, how about if I do this, and she watches The Masked Dancer, and when the head comes off it’s me? That’ll blow her mind. So I said, ‘Yeah, let’s go.’ And at this point in my career, you got to have fun with it. So I went for it.” This season’s co...

Here are 10 favorites: “Somos Novios”Manzanero wrote the sweetly innocent “Somos Novios” (We’re boyfriend and girlfriend, because we both feel mutual, profound love) in 1968. The purity of the lyrics connected at a global scale. While the English adaptation of the song — “It’s Impossible” by Sid Wayne — changed the lyrics (It’s impossible, tell the sun to leave the sky, it’s just impossible), the notion of enduring love remained. When Perry Como recorded “It’s Impossible,” it became his first song to reach the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 in more than 12 years. “It’s Impossible” was also recorded by Elvis Presley, Andy Williams, Shriley Bassey and Andre Bocelli, among many others. In Spanish, “Somos Novios” remains one of the most covered Spanish language songs o...
