The upcoming doc will celebrate their lives and open up about their tragic deaths, featuring interviews from close friends, family and co-workers. The musical icon died in 2012 at 48 years old, and her daughter followed in an eerily similar manner in 2015 at age 22. Both were found unresponsive in their bathtubs, and struggled with drug and alcohol abuse throughout their lives. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. We got her a place to live. Phran helped with her wardrobe and got her signature 3/4-length glove thing going. We got her hair cut. She hadn’t had the funds to do that. At her heart she was a folk hippie. She went on tour with Clint Black. She would sing and tell stories and that was the essence of who she was: the stories. She had a wicked sense of humor. At any moment you’d end up peeing you pants and if you were drinking, it got even funnier. She’d lived life. She’d attempted love on several occasions and never really found the right guy. She built a family around her. We were always together around holidays. We were at KNIX (in Phoenix) and doing a show in town. “’80’s Ladies’ was 4:45 long and people didn’t like anything over 3:30 and the [sing-song] tag at the end drove radio g...
Chris Cornell’s cover of the John Lennon classic “Watching the Wheels” received the lyric video treatment, and early viewers were able to join the Cornell family in the YouTube Chatroom to watch the clip with wife Vicky and their kids Toni and Christopher Cornell. The song is from Cornell’s first full posthumous album, No One Sings Like You Anymore, which sees the Soundgarden singer covering the Lennon chestnut along with songs by ELO, Prince, Terry Reid, Guns N’ Roses and more. SPIN spoke to Vicky Cornell about the album and you can read that here. Check out the “Watching the Wheels” video below. Talk about a belated holiday gift. The Flaming Lips released a new video for “A Change at Christmas (Say It Isn’t So)” on Tuesday, a mere 17 years after the song was first released on the band’s Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell. Directed by Wayne Coyne, the singer can be seen as a Santa Grinch (just watch and you’ll get it) with his toddler son as he’s flanked by the bandmembers. Check it out below. [embedded content] It’s been a strange year for the Lips. The group released American Head, their lauded new album, in September and landed on our list of the best albums of 2020. We also spoke to Coyne ahead of the making of the album about how it was inspired by Tom Petty and the band’s bubble shows, which were pushed to 2021 due to the ongoing COVID pandemic. Netflix’s History of Swear Words has received its first official trailer, and it’s a fuckin’ doozy. The Nicolas Cage-hosted series is a dive into the origins of the words “fuck”, “shit”, “bitch”, “dick”, “pussy”, and “damn”. Fittingly, the trailer begins with a dapperly dressed Cage standing up from his seat and screaming the F-bomb at the top of his lungs, which seems like a good indication of what the show is all about. Netflix describes the six-episode series, which was produced by Funny or Die, as such: “An education in expletives: the history lesson you didn’t know you needed. History of Swear Words, hosted by Nicolas Cage, is a loud and proudly profane series that explores the origins, pop culture-usage, science, and cultural impact of curse words.” Throughout the trailer, Cage is jo...
Although season 2 doesn’t wrap up until next week, HBO and BBC have a third and final season for His Dark Materials. The TV adaptation of Philip Pullman’s beloved book trilogy has already covered The Golden Compass and The Subtle Knife, so season three will correspond with the events in The Amber Spyglass, thus bringing the fantasy-drama epic to a close. Production is set to begin in Cardiff, Wales in March 2021. According to Deadline, season two only consisted of seven episodes due to COVID-19 restrictions, but season three will take eight episodes to tell the conclusion of Lyra (Dafne Keen) and Will’s (Amir Wilson) journey. The series is produced by Bad Wolf in association with New Line Cinema for BBC One and HBO, with Pullman himself involved in New Line’s rost...
Nickelback have long been one of rock’s most parodied acts, but the latest mockery of the band comes courtesy of Nickelback themselves. The Canadian rockers have hilariously spoofed their own “Photograph” video in a new commercial for Google Photos. The multiplatinum group’s 2005 music video has been the inspiration for countless memes and even a Donald Trump tweet that was eventually blocked by the band over copyright issues. The image of frontman Chad Kroeger holding up a picture frame, with the words “Look at this photograph”, provides a blank slate for endless fun. In the Google commercial, Nickelback are poking fun at the original song and video with newly written lyrics that even dare make fun of Chad Kroeger’s signature curly locks: “Falling down the photo rabbit hole/ Is it my hair...
Source: The Washington Post / Getty Playboy Carti hasn’t released a new body of work in two years, but that hasn’t quelled any anticipation for his latest set. All signs are pointing to the fact the Atlanta rapper will release his new album Whole Lotta Red on Christmas Day, with Kanye West reportedly serving as an executive producer. Last month, Carti got fans excited by previewing some of his unheard music via Instagram Live and has been teasing bits and pieces here and there. On Monday (Dec. 21), Carti gave the most pointed sign that his album will drop on Dec. 25. Over the weekend, Carti tweeted, “mY b3sT w0rk YET” in what most assumed was meant to reference Whole Lotta Read. He then packed on the impending hype by tweeting, “12/25” with a pair of red lips as an emoji. Early Tuesday mor...
