Now that Deena and Angelina are both under the same (very massive) family vacation Las Vegas roof, it’s only a matter of time before they come face to face. And someone is going to have to initiate contact. Tonight’s Jersey Shore episode featured the aftermath of Deena discovering the dreaded “double booking,” and it wasn’t pretty. Even though it’s been eight months 10 months and five days since speechgate, the pregnant meatball was beside herself in tears. “I get that you guys want us to get together and talk, but I’m not doing it here. Especially being super-early pregnant. I just can’t put myself in the position where I’m going to see this girl,” Deena said. Luckily, the gang saved face by flying ...

ACCEPT’s WOLF HOFFMANN Explains ‘Too Mean To Die’ Album Title

ACCEPT guitarist Wolf Hoffmann spoke to France’s Loud TV about the title of the band’s upcoming album, “Too Mean To Die”. He said (see video below): “It’s more or less our answer to the whole corona vibe in the land, in the world. Of course, it’s not meant serious — we said, ‘We’re too mean to die. We can’t be bothered by any little virus that’s out there.’ Of course, it’s not meant to be totally serious. But it sounded like a metal album, it sounded like a metal title, and we liked it. So we decided to go that route and give the metal fans a fresh and in-your-face sort of statement and a metal album that doesn’t really deal with anything corona-related. ‘Cause I think people had enough of all the cor...

New STYX Album Will Contain ‘Really Great Songs’ With ‘Some Progressive Leanings’

In a new interview with Pete Pardo of Sea Of Tranquility, STYX drummer Todd Sucherman spoke about the musical and lyrical direction of the upcoming follow-up to 2017’s “The Mission” album. He said: “It’s really great songs and great songwriting. There’s definitely some progressive leanings. There’s some beautiful melodies. Some songs, lyrically, sound like they were written in the middle of the pandemic, but they were written before the pandemic. I know a lot of people are gonna probably read things into the lyrics, and go, ‘Oh, they’re singing about that.’ Prophetically, it was written months before that. But that’s really all I can say. Top to bottom, there’s not a dog in the batch.” This past October, Shaw tol...

PUDDLE OF MUDD’s WES SCANTLIN On How He Has Been Spending His Coronavirus Downtime: ‘All I Can Really Do Is Write’

PUDDLE OF MUDD frontman Wes Scantlin spoke to Tucson, Arizona’s Rock 102.1 KFMA radio station about how he has been spending his coronavirus downtime. He said (see video below): “I really didn’t actually have a problem staying at home. All I can really do is write. I’m bothering the crap out of my freakin’ roommates — writing and stuff. Most girlfriends that I actually date or whatever, they totally, just at one point or another, get completely sick of me continuously and constantly writing at whatever hour it is. It doesn’t really matter anymore. They’re tired me of hearing me freakin’ write songs and stuff. It’s pretty funny. Last night was hilarious. Me and my friend, we almost got into a big fight and stuff — it was ridiculous. Ever...

ANN WILSON Looks Back On HEART’s Emotional ‘Stairway To Heaven’ Performance At KENNEDY CENTER HONORS

Back in December 2012, HEART‘s Ann and Nancy Wilson delivered a moving rendition of “Stairway To Heaven”, LED ZEPPELIN‘s signature song, at the Kennedy Center Honors. They were joined by Jason Bonham, son of original drummer John and the drummer for LED ZEPPELIN‘s 2007 reunion show. Their version of the track gradually grew to include a string section, a horde of backup singers and the Joyce Garrett Youth Choir. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones sat watching from the balcony and were visibly moved, particularly Plant, who had tears welling up in his eyes. Ann reflected on the experience of performing for ZEPPELIN members in a new interview with Vulture. She said: “There was a possibility that both [Nancy and I] could’ve dissolved into ne...

Caroline Polachek Shares Studio Cover of The Corrs’ “Breathless”: Stream

Chances are, if you caught Caroline Polachek live during her Pang tour, then you saw the alternative pop artist bust out a cover of The Corrs hit “Breathless”. In the event you missed out on that electric performance, however, Polachek has dropped an official studio cover version of the 2000 bop today. As is to be expected from the former Chairlift singer, Polachek’s rendition is a little weirder and a little bit less blown-out than the bombastic original, which featured triple harmonies from the three Corr sisters. Polachek handles all of the singing on this one, pitching up her voice to accentuate its sticky hook and add more angular dimensions to this Grammy-nominated number. Take a listen to both Polachek’s cover and the original version of the song below. Editors’ Picks Luckily ...

The Stand, Explained: We Need to Talk About Harold

Listen via Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Play | Radio Public | Stitcher | RSS At long last, Stephen King’s epic novel The Stand hits CBS All Access. Languishing for years in development hell, the journey from page to screen has been almost as long and arduous as the cross-country treks taken by its characters. Yet, it’s hard to think of a more perfect timing for this story of destruction and renewal than amidst a global pandemic. Beyond the pandemic parable, larger themes of taking a stand against persuasive evil are central to this story as well. The series opens with a dire warning and call to action from an unseen Mother Abigail (Whoopi Goldberg) that not only fits King’s story, but could easily be interpreted as a message to vi...

Yes, Trump’s Twitter Password Really Was “maga2020!”

Back in October, a man named Victor Gevers claimed he logged into Donald Trump’s Twitter account by correctly guessing his password to be “maga2020!”. When the news blew up, both the White House and Twitter denied that the President was hacked. But today, Dutch prosecutors who looked into the case have confirmed that it did actually happen. Unfortunately, that means Trump really did choose a password that comically — and scarily! — easy to guess. Earlier this fall, Gevers shared screenshots proving that he broke into Trump’s Twitter account on October 16th. According to the Guardian, the Netherlands promptly instructed Team High-tech Crime, their police specialist cyber unit, to determine whether or not Gevers’s claims were true — and the results were shared this afternoon. “We believe the...

Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin Cover The Velvet Underground’s “Rock and Roll”: Watch

It’s the eighth and final night of Hanukkah, and Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin are going out with a bang. The Foo Fighters frontman and Grammy-winning producer have celebrated the holiday by covering a song by a different Jewish artist each night, and for their final act they’ve busted out a rendition of The Velvet Underground’s “Rock and Roll”. “As 2020 comes to a close and another Hanukkah ends (my first!) I am reminded of the two things that have gotten me through this year: music and hope,” wrote Grohl in a note posted to Foo Fighters’ Twitter account. “The project, which initially began as a silly idea, grew to represent something much more important to me,” Grohl added. “It showed that the simple gesture of spreading joy and happiness goes a long way, and as a we look forward...

Big Sean and Jhené Aiko show off a ’90s type of love and speak a certain “Body Language” in their new cinematic music video with Ty Dolla $ign, which came out on Wednesday. The mini-film shows the real-life couple taking on the roles of iconic onscreen duos from ’90s Black romantic comedies, from Tupac and Janet Jackson in Poetic Justice (1993) to Larenz Tate and Nia Long in Love Jones (1997). Aiko also serves big Angela Bassett energy from Waiting to Exhale (1995) when she burns her ex’s car with his clothes inside. And of course, the featurette has pop and R&B music’s favorite featured star Ty Dolla $ign popping up in each scene while he narrates the chorus. “Big homage paying to a few of my favorite flicks ...
